Re: Single speed build - cheap parts & advice needed.
Thanks to an Transport NSW bus, I have a busted steel single speed frame.
I now have some spare parts that are excess to requirements. I was planning on hanging onto them but the Minister has ordered them gone.
Interested?

That is very, very cool. I can imagine in the future you'd be able to just 'virtually' walk through, click on something you like and buy it. You can probably do that now somewhere... I give Google a year to make this happen. It shouldn't take much to tie Google Shopping into their "Street view...

And I was just about to offer you the ones I have on the wreck. They look to be either octalink or ISIS drive. They have also been run over by a bus and needed a new chainring (the existing one being a little worn).I bought myself a Stronglight Track crankset from Planet X in the UK.

They climbed it 100 times over 14 hours.

With some serious gradients to be climbed in the next few stages, it might be worth transferring in some mountain specialists like Alberto Contador!

After we tooted, my wife says that I probably just look like another anti-bike driver. We need some DHBC bumper stickers. Or I'll install a new horn, like the Tour de France race director has.

I've been using Michellin Pro4 (mix of endurance and service course). They are way faster than any other tyre I've used. Much better grip in the wet too, which surprised me given they have no grooves in the tyre. Puncture wish they have been good - until I started commuting on them. As soon as I exp...

I may have some cranks you might be interested in. I need to hear back from STA insurance before I give anything away. Also may need to get the assessed to determine their condition post-wreck. They would be square taper and would probably need a new chain ring (its a bit worn, 48 teeth). Not sure o...

Google are a tiny player in that game. Have a look at the big miners if you want to see profit ( and hence both tax and dividends ) disappearing off shore. Unfortunately I don't have a trailer of any kind to offer. If we can't source one from within the club, I'm sure we could look at crowd-funding the rental of a box trailer for the team. Having a quick at the UHaul site, a "small furniture trailer" (7x4m fully covered) for 7 days would set ...

Remember this time last year? Milano-San Remo in the wind, snow and rain? Apparently the majority of the peloton was wearing Castelli Gabba jackets/jerseys, most against sponsorship agreements (they removed the Castellit logos).
