Re: Tempe tomorrow???

Thanks all. I went to join on-line as advised, but found out that I couldn't join DH that way because of being a former member of RBCC. So I would have had to 1- send a transfer form to RBCC; 2 - get them to return it to me; 3- get it to DH; 4 - get it to CNSW; 5 - join DH. All to prove that...

Tempe tomorrow???

I was hoping to head on down to Tempe tomorrow, throw membership fees at someone and have a go at track riding on a Giant Bowery I was given. I know it's late notice, but can anyone tell me whether people will be down there and out on the track if it's raining early tomorrow? I don't want to do roll...

Re: DHBC Road Time Trial Team/s for Calga TT

A course profile is at http://www.atta.asn.au/maps/calgaprofile.jpg It's definitely undulating. The outward leg seems to take 3m longer as there's more uphill stuff. However, the return leg features a stiff climb about 2k from the finish ("Blood Hill") where we medium pacers get down to ab...

Re: DHBC Crit to return in training format!!! 16/05/10**** T

So if it's just training, will we need a racing license? I'm looking to hold mine off for a few weeks (boat and wedding expenses have cut a hole in the bike budget).

Time trial at Calga?

I'm hoping to head up to Calga for the time trial on Sunday. The site says that it's on, rail hail or shine.

Anyone else heading up?

It wasn't a bad race (like I'd know, it's only my fourth) and it was really nice to race on such a wide open track. Like Mike, I blew it with tactics. I got to the front of the pack just a few seconds too late to join a four-man breakaway on S bend before the main straight. Two of us tried to get ac...

Thanks to the organisers for a fun race......they even made sure there was some padding in place for the off-track excursion I had after trying to latch onto Simon's wheel, thinking he was going past for the last time. It seems that the comparatively small fields and smooth track would actually make...

Damn, I thought Heffron would be cancelled so I went out west for the Tour of August at Horsley Park. There were about 100 riders in 5 grades. Apparently quite a few were burgling in grades lower than their normal ones, attracted by the prize money. D grade had only one pack most of the race, as in ...

Are there any day racing licenses available at the moment? I would be interested in having a go but don't want to stump up for a full license this week, having already bought a new bike and having to stump up for a new front fork for the other one.

Ta.

Thanks for all the great advice, guys. I ended up with an absolutely pristine Vivente Como at a great price from Len (great guy btw) from the Australian Cycling Forum. He has just upgraded and sold the Como through the ACF to ensure that it would go to an enthusiast rather than an Ebay trasher. It's...

Newbie road bike advice

Hi all I had my first ride with DHBC a bit over a week ago, and had a great time. Problem is, I think I'm now addicted and need another bike. To try to give some context; I've spent a fair bit of time on bikes but last Sunday was my first group ride. I started with the slowies then merged with the m...
