The climb up Buffalo in the dark is the same as this years modified 250 course and the descent was definitely in the light.
Twas a tad crisp going down but I would rather do it early before the afternoon heat any day.

The front wheel spins beautifully but there is a bit of lateral movement. Is there an easy adjustment that can be done at home or is it a bike shop kind of thing requiring both tools and know how?

I took the plunge and bought the new SRAM Red 2012 to go on the frame I am building up.
I ended up buying a set of HED Ardennes wheels provately from a guy who won them as a race prize

Greg If you get a towbar option make sure you get a NSW RTA issued bike rack number plate. I have been pinged for 3 points and $305 dollars for obscuring the number plate by a bike rack. Good luck with the Romin. I liked it at first but the tip of the saddle was too wide for me.

Greg Having tried lots of saddles over the years I can offer a few for you to test for a couple of weeks if you like. I have banished the following saddles to my old commuter, old road bike or the MTB but you are welcome to try them out. Lite 209 - Just didn't work for me. Many swear by them though....

Then I found locally a pair of 'new in the box' HED Ardennes CL's for $680 that a guy had won but did not need. They have 24 front and 28 rear spokes. Applying the rear brake and pedalling against it is not really for during cornering but rather a great way to scrub speed before and sometime at the entry into of a sweeper on a descent without locking up the back or relying on the front for the vast majority of the braking especially when the road ...

An interesting tip given to me by a XC motocross racer / mtb rider If you are coming into a corner and you want to scrub speed and not have the rear lock up is to put the rear brake on and pedal against it.
