So steep, that when out of the saddle, and pushing hard down on the peddles (admittedly with 87kgs!), my chain snapped.

One advantage of road bikes, kids usually don't want them. There are still people who will nick anything that isn't nailed down, but it wouldn't surprise me if you left a good road bike (i.e. $3,000 +) and a Huffy next to each other, the Huffy would vanish first, as that is what the kids see as &qu...

Good to see you going so well Geoff. Reckon you'll be getting placed in C grade in no time at all.

Nearly got blown off the bike this morning in Adelaide. It was so feckin' windy. Took in Corkscrew at the end of the ride which nearly killed me!

Hello Quigs, You should catch up with the lads as they are probably the nicest bunch of lads you will come across. I'm from Drogheda meself, and was a member of DHBC in 2005, before moving to Adelaide. As well as Geoff the Irishman we also had another lad Sheamus, who's Dad is Irish, and is now livi...

Stephen Roche also won the World Champs in 1987 making it a triple crown. Only other person to have done that is Eddy Merckx. Cycling is in a deep dark hole unfortunately. A promising Irish cyclist Mark Scanlon, who won the u18 World Champs (in '99 I think) has just quit the sport saying he was &quo...

Yep 10 minutes to the hills Geoff and 45 minutes to get to the top of Mount Lofty. Hard auld slog when you're not all that fit.

And as for Corkscrew Hill, Mikesbytes - what a b*stard of a hill that is!! I avoid it most of the time I have to admit.

Get well soon James. That's some shiner you've got! The ride back from Waterfall, in huge bunches, is sheer madness in my opinion. I was thinking that for a long time, until I was finally involved in a nasty spill early last year (although I got off lightly in comparison to James). I'm glad to be no...
