Piepoli would have been tested as he won Stage 10. Do we know which stage Ricco was busted on? He won Stage 6 and 9, so it is possible that he has only been busted on Stage 6 at this point. Which means that Piepoli's sample hasn't been fully analysed yet. James It seems the test was from stage 4 &q...

I'm also interested in doing the the ride. How far is it including the return ride and how long did it take everyone? It's about 90 k's one way and it took me ages last year - at least 4 hours as there's lots of cycle traffic and it was raining quite hard till just after Sutherland. The return trip...

French Cycling Holiday

For those who may be interested, here is a travel log of the recent bike tour Jo & I did in Provence, France. It was a fully escorted and paid up tour. The cost included a support bus to carry luggage and tired / wet riders, bikes (either Trek Hybrid or Trek road bikes, both with triple chain ri...

I'm in & I'm sure Jo will be too but not for ride back as well I wouldn't think - depends how my fitness is going and what route you plan to take on the return. The train is always a good idea - one thing though is we should leave early as possible to try to avoid some of the crowds.

I know, it's a killer. I am regularly outside in the early mornings testing myself against its unbelievable gradients.

I preferred it blocked off actually as it really cut down on the amount of traffic we got at peak hour and it wasn't that mush of a problem for us.

Article in The Times about "psycholists"

In today's Times online Bike riders: It's unfair to brand us all psycholists 3 different views. The proponent makes some good points, especially regarding deaths and injuries on the road. I feel the rebuttals are weak and very much the party line from those types of person. Still, this line about us...

Very windy down low, up to about 1200m where every time we'd turn towards the South West (I think). the wind was cold and gusting strongly (just about stopped me dead on one stretch before we got into the tree line)....

OK - I moved my home & contents insurance before realising that NRMA insurance were no longer part of the NRMA - dumb of me really as I've done extensive amounts of IT work for IAG post the NRMA de-mutualisation and sell-off of the insurance business.
