Well I saw some of mark's road rash yesterday and it wasn't pretty. I reckon he'll be feeling pretty sore today.
The skin will grow back though. The badly dented top tube will take longer and be expensive when it gets repaired. Super record levers are fairly well ground down to.

Mini V's are used alot on tandems and seem to generally get a good rap. If you already have them, you would know if they are effective or not.
We have V brakes with travel agents on the tandem as we have STI levers.
V brakes can also be used with diacompe 287 levers if you are using barends

I'm not sure what the cost is but john has lots of experience on custom frames.
Habcycles would most probably be a similar cost though and if i had the choice of steel or ti for the same money, i'd go for ti everytime

a much simpler solution for those without track type dropouts is to use a half chain link. These are available for both 3/32 and 1/8 chain. Will be riding up to Monavale Wednesday and Friday. Departs from Summer Hill at 6 am and will be on Crystal heading towards Anzac Bridge by 6.10
Might ride up McCarrs Creek Rd tomorrow for fun.
