Also in reference to Veloflex Master and Vittoria Corso. Be aware that these may be "race" tyres which means they will feel fabulous when you ride but will offer little to no puncture protection on Sydney roads.

I rate Schwalbe Durano Plus - very tough, good puncture protection. No tyre is impervious and bad luck can destroy a new tyre.

Dougie, John & Noel,
I also plan to revisit the 3 Peaks in 2015. I'll look around but have no reason to stay in another place, Chorki was just fine.
Have a great ride,

Re: Three Peaks 2015

Dougie, Heaps of accommodation options, from basic to luxury. Just get in early and there should be no drama. It's a ski resort so plenty of rooms. I can't remember the name of where I stayed ( I'll tell you later when I get home) but it was a ski lodge with good facilities - share kitchen, 100 metr...

Re: Recommendations for a rain jacket

I'll be following this thread with interest as any rain jacket I've ever purchased results in the sauna effect except for a couple of weeks each year in the coldest part of winter. My solution at the moment is wearing cycling kit, getting wet, then a hot shower at work and dry clothes. Less desirabl...

Valley Wheelers L'Eroica 2014 23/03/2014

This morning bright and not so early, a hardy and hearty bunch set off from Canterbury Velodrome on their vintage (steel) steeds. We rode to Bicentennial Park at Homebush for coffee and then returned to Tempe and the Concordia Club for a well earned meal and cleansing ale. http://i1133.photobucket.c...

Peter Bownes at the corner of Fitzroy and Sydenham rds, trying to cross over. I drove pass him beeping incessantly and waving but I doubt if he could make out who it was through the windscreen.
We'll now I know who it was waving and beeping :) Hi Marc.

Re: Dulwich Hill spotted

Whoops I thought i recognised you, I should have said hello. Our other rider was John N, we were off for a quick Lapa lap. No worries, you were all in front of me before I even realized. You should be tapering peter. Not honing with the NRS guys. I was taking it easy but someone passed me. Doesn't ...

At La Perouse this morning, 3 members of the NRS squad - Alex, Tom, I think and I didn't see the rider on the front in the NRS jersey. I managed to catch a tow back up to Anzac Parade but at that point they left me for dead :)

As long as I'm home by 11, I'm happy to do the Wall. Is that do-able with a slight margin?
This ride with the wall is 5.5 hrs elapsed for a bunch so maybe not possible in your time constraints.
I was just being facetious anyhow :)
