Greg's $30 Garage Purge

OK couple of items that someone in the DHBC may want. If there's no love, I'll just bung them on Scumtree and Fleabay. Item#1 Ladies Mountain Bike $30 http://i49.tinypic.com/22zsqa.jpg 18 speed, Aluminium frame, Low end shimano deraileur. It's in quite good nick apart from a bit of superficial surfa...

Lo All I'm trying to improve my climbing significantly over the next few months (for a delusional attempt on the Three Peaks in March), and just wanted to see how I should adapt my bike setup (if at all)? I'm currently riding 53/39 and 12-25, and to be honest I really feel like I'm struggling to sta...

Re: RNP Tomorrow Anyone??

Hi Spiros

I'm keen, though I think I might have cooked myself riding the eastern suburbs hills this morning. Will deffo ride Waterfall though - perhaps we can chat then. I'll be in a Blue-Green Cell top riding a Silver/Grey Orbea.

Cheers

Re: RNP Tomorrow Anyone??

I just signed up for the Three Peaks, so I too have joined the "bitten off more than I can chew and about to chew hard" camp.

Perhaps we could go to Waterfall with the C25s then drop in to RNP from there? I was pretty cooked by Waterfall riding with the C28s on the weekend

Makes sense.

I'm actually keen to start having a crack at such things, though I dare say I'm a long way off the pace you guys would set. Any C25/C28 folk want to give this a bash soon?

If we win we can all go ride the Alpe d'Huez on a Wednesday rather than LaPa
Suffice to say we'll be at LaPa for another week at least.

That's me in the fetching fluoro yellow top BTW

Gave my Cell specials a run this morning on the Wednesday ride. Went well.

In terms of sizing I'm 5'10" (177-178cm) and 86 kilos (great weight for climbing. No, really) and the large seems a reasonable fit

Enjoyed the route, liked the pace (was hanging on by my lips on the last climb).

Were we a bit under C28 pace though?

Few more details about the ride emerging. Starts @ Olympic Park, finishes at Onslow Park @ Camden, then back to Homebush the next day. Guessing we're largely riding going to be riding the M7 bike path, but that's a guess on my part. God knows what one will do between getting to Camden and nightfall....

Re: Waterfall ride: Middies vs Fasties

Greg, my Garmin posted an average moving speed of 28.1km by the time we got to the cafe - so we were dead on C28 pace. It was a little bit windy so so maybe that's why a few people were feeling it. I tried to ride to the majority of the riders - which were all quite strong today, so there probably ...

Well after feeling very strong and comfortable riding C25s, I tried making the jump from C25s to C28s today, and found the going wayyy too quick. I got spat at Sutherland and was so spent I actually turned at Engadine. Even then it was a long slog back. I know getting dropped is part of the challeng...

Gave this a go this week. TBH I didn't really enjoy it. Like the OP, I found the video quite dizzying - the riders' movements don't mirror your own and I found myself having to look away from the screen. The startionary trainer is set up to change intensity when the climb ramps up, but the calibrati...

AFL/NRL is limited to people within Australia. Green Edge will take Orica to every continent.
Yeah but the football codes give you mainstream coverage on FTA TV and Pay. Outsude of Europe (which isn't a mining hotbed) cycling is pretty marginal as a sport in terms of press

And OTT = over the top
