Audax Ride Sat 17 Dec: 'Doing the Dog Trap'

Hi folks, Sorry for the late notice. I'll be doing this Audax ride on Saturday. I'm pretty excited as I absolutely love riding up to Yarramalong and I've heard a lot about the toughness of riding up the Dog Trap Road. Please note that you will not have to wear any fluro vests or have Audax lighting ...

fyi: we've got an unhappy member of the public with a rider in identifiable kit. Please ride responsibly. Its not good for the clubs reputation.

Well done Rhys, Alex and Jo. Some great results. It was great to see you all in action. Pia and I had a lot of fun watching and it was definitely some of the best racing I'd seen at Dunc Gray for a long time... in fact there was more atmosphere in the velodrome than there was during the Worlds back ...

It's about an hours ride if you go straight up the hwy from North Sydney.

Unfortunately i'm looking like a non-started. Got Eddy that weekend... Hopefully I'll get another chance latter in the month.

yeah we did. From memory there only one train we could get to get there by 6:15am. With some of the Summer Audax rides that start at 6am I've pretty much found it impossible to get there by PT. Of courses there is always the hard core option of riding to the start!

Oh, I remember this from last year. the 200km ride that turned into a 250km when my gear cable broke on the way back from west-head. Assuming I don't have any child caring clashes, I'll be there.

Btw: Is there any chance I could get a lift to the start?

@ Mike, yes, slow and steady is the way. When I was 21, I went from 113kg to 73kg and it took me 12 months of absoulte dedication to take it off an keep it off (mostly swimming and diet). I know how to loose weight. My recent inflation is the worst I've had in a decade of maintaining my weight after...

Re: Race Weight

I had a hell of a shock a few months ago when I realised that I'd ballooned out to 84kg after months of not riding, being time poor, stressed and eating badly. So two months ago, I quit my annual train pass and returned to riding to work each day (which is 50kms a day) and I've been watching my diet...

I spoke to Eugene. He didn't sound pleased about being bumped into Div 2 since its his first race in a few years. I think he won or placed high in this race several years ago, so he may have reputation in the eyes of the handicappers.

Have a fantastic race everyone.
