Kurnell - Sunday 15 Sept

I'll be taking jnrs Bro and Taku to Kurnell tomorrow, starting from the cafe with everyone else at 6:30 – we'll probably catch a tow with the 28s or middies, and peel off after the Capt. Cook bridge. Anyone who wants to join in is welcome, just seek me out at the cafe, or post a note here. Pace will...

As far as I understand, Campy 9/10 hubs from 2002 on work with 11sp ok; earlier hubs may have a lock-ring/clearance issue (I've never encountered one). The 11sp chain breaker is able to peen the chain pin (like a rivet), which you must do for a Campy 11sp chain. You can get third-party Campy-specifi...

Now, he will be unstoppable. You might have three years before he leaves you at the lights.
Immediately in my favour: junior gearing! (I think the roll-out rules were invented by unfairly competitive parents)...

Re: WTB: 54cm road frame

I didn't think I had ALL the bits in the attic to build another bike... don't tell my better half! Frame from Andrew M, and Paulette's handlebars... a new headset from Hell on Wheels (rock on)... And a surprisingly complete campy 10spd groupset that I just happened to have hanging around (!!) All ma...

Re: New Club Ride Commences 7th October - RNP

Just giving this thread a little revival, and cross posting from the Otford thread: despite start of the week enthusiasm, I'm unlikely to be a contender for RNP tomorrow.

Great achievement and a great read, especially for those of us who wish we were there (minus the heat). Having done the Alpine Classic in only slightly cooler conditions, I have great sympathy for you!

Re: Sunday ride to the Otford pie shop

At the risk of being habitual – I'm up for RNP this Sunday, usual time — but with an Otford option if any takers (no pie shop stop or accompanying banana smoothie; coffee break in Helensburgh if needed). Anyone else?

Consider it sold Andrew! But it's a bit cheap*, I'm sure we can come to some sort of arrangement.

*edit: I'm referring to the price, not the quality!

WTB: 54cm road frame

I'm looking for a road frame for my rapidly growing son, Taku, with a 54cm (virtual) top-tube. Given his history of dropping bikes, it should be something durable, not too pricey, and race-worthy (yes, I know, I know). I'll be building it with modern components... Tying to get it all together before...

Re: Sunday ride to the Otford pie shop

All those PRs in RNP mean you really enjoyed it, Noel... it's a great loop. Artillery Hill, The Wall, and the more rainforest-y parts of the national park really make the ride, methinks. I'm looking forward to doing it again... soon.

Re: Prescription cycling sunglasses recommendations?

Obi Wan has some advice.

Although, I've also heard the Rudy Rydon recommendation. I think Simon B (if he is even on the forum) fashions those. I'm sure he wouldn't mind showing them off – I'll check if he's riding Sunday?

Strava tools for the metrically addicted

Seeing as I hardly ever use Strava, I take no responsibility for this list of Strava enhancing tools, which just so happened to be typed by the hundreds of typing monkeys * I use to monitor Andrew M's internet movements. Given their success so far, it seems like this will be an ever expanding list. ...

I agree, it was a great day; fantastic efforts by all racers, with great support from parents and siblings! The canteen was propped up by Taku — I think he ate his body-weight in sausages. And thanks for the marquee Colin, sheer luxury.

Re: Ride Report Johnny Warren Jamberoo Classic 2013

Wow, what good ride reports. Seeing as almost everything has been said, I'll be sort of brief. I had planned to ride down with Colin, but neglected to actually tell him that. The plan went out the window when he sprinted away from me at the start. Probably a wise move, because I became mired in the ...

Jindabyne Ultimate Snowy Challenge - March 24

I'm contemplating the "Jindabyne Ultimate Snowy Challenge"... Not a lot of info on the website, but seems to be very much in the same vein as the B2B – 80km & 160km sportif (24 March), hill climb challenge, and a crit (23 March). The 160km has 3000m of climbing, no profiles are up yet,...

Hope Greg recovers quickly. It is always sobering to hear these things, especially when you're doing the same ride. I'd agree that it is heartening to hear that he was attended to so quickly and thoroughly.
