What cycling blogs and forums do you read - or write?
A friend of mine works for a social media marketing company - they target bloggers and get them to write stuff about their clients' products. In this instance they have a bike company that wants to offer bloggers a chance to trial a bike. I read very few bike blogs, but perhaps you know of others? F...

Seems logical to have a thread for the Giro. here's the official site: http://www.gazzetta.it/Speciali/Giroditalia/2010/en/ . Prepare for some exceptional translation if you head there. DGV was built where it was as an ALP boondoggle, pre-Olympics, to drag some more sports facilities out that way. Before the games it was identified as anomalously located, given the concentration of other venues at Homebush. It's not as if cycling needed to be out Bankstown way, like other sports th...

What's worn under the knicks?
It was pointed out to me today, by someone who shall remain nameless, that wearing undies beneath cycling knicks may not be the done thing.
Now of course the answer to subject of this post is "Nothing: it's all in perfect working order."
But in case you have another answer, let's have it!

Hi All, are you bored of rides to Waterfall? I must say there are days on which I find the prospect of the familiar route a tad uninspiring, even though I still want a solid 75km+ Sunday workout of 3-4 hours and of course the whole-of-club cafe meetup. Hooray! For once I have a real, indisputable reason for being slow! Here's a wee video I made of the crit - there's not much racing action, but plenty to encourage folks to come out and race!

Riding in Port Moresby
I was listening to 702 this morning and one of the guests was a Salvation Army Major posted to Port Moresby. He's a bit of a bike tragic, but only took his bike over with a static trainer, expecting the streets of PNG would be too dangerous to ride. He was wrong! A group of riders goes out a few mor...

I've been lent a Flip Mino HD video camera (http://www.theflip.com.au) to test (I'm a tech journo) so expect to be interviewed and filmed at the crit this weekend. I'll cobble something together and get it onto YouTube so we can all share the experience!

Nintendo Wii to get exercise bike game!
This ( http://aussie-nintendo.com/news/19835/ ) could be too freaking awesome for words - although I doubt the games will have much to do with competitive cycling. Still ... I reckon cyclist/hackers will be trying to figure out how to pimp this out to take data from power meters and hack together vi...

For those wanting a longer option home after the crit, I'm happy to lead a bunch that goes along a route similar to this: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Dunc-Gray-to-the-inner-west-Long-way-home There's some time on bike paths, but they are good paths through some interesting bits of Sydney yo...

Designer bikes
Every so often I hear of designer bikes, "created" by renowned fashion houses or similar organisations and carrying astounding price tags. Well ... today a Twitter buddy let me know that he had seen a "Georg Jensen bicycle - only 100 made and 2 in Australia. Has a silver bell, only $6...

Waterfall Cruisers 18/10/09
Hi all, just a quick note to say that we're hoping that the Cruisers bunch won't go to Waterfall on Sunday, October 18th. The idea is that we'll ride to Dunc Gray velodrome instead, to watch the club crit. This is an unashamed exercise in exposing our newer and slower members to racing, so that you ...
