From memory the start and endpoint were the same. My stats show it to be pretty close to exactly the same. 22.5kms. They may have corrected the length at the nsw tt as some distances for the road race were too long for the stated event (mas2 road race was one lap too long apparently, so this year it...

Just a point to note about pace lines. It will be different every time. Sometimes you can correct it, other times not. It really helps if someone takes charge and organises the group. It doesn't help if there are different motivations within the group like having a team member up the road. Food for ...

That suprises me that your group was 2:30 back. It felt like 30 sec when our group returned to the finish line. As for my report. Everything went to pre race plan. Basically you have to build your engine for the appropriate task. Riding long slowish kms early in the season builds your endurance. Building top end power reduces your endurance so if you want endurance, slow down a bit.

As a guide, I ride 85% of my time at an endurance level

That's my take on it.

If you have entered in the kurrajong classic then you have entered the race for club riders (grades c&d) a and b is reserved for those who are challenging for state titles.

Only a handful of DHers will be in C. The likes of our NRS folk. The rest will be in D, 2 laps of a 33km course.

For $1000 you should get an excellent fixie. Go drop bar, you will get frustrated with a flatbar I reckon. BarangaRing criterium

Flicking through the cycling nsw website and discovered a criterium being held at Barangaroo. Hot dog course, flat as.

I don't remember there being one last year, it could be of interest as its only a handful of kms away... It's on the weekend before b2b

Ha, really? I'm not sure that's ever been the case. The person who told you that might not have liked the look of you and decided to pull your leg!
Mat you are probably right! I vaguely recall there being something written up on the old website about it but I could have misinterpreted it.

Re: Sunday Bunches - Do you like this possible option?

Is there any feedback from the fast middies out there about why they don't ride with the fasties? Too fast? Too intimidating? There used to be a policy of invite only going back maybe 5 years ago(?). Not sure if that policy still exists. I believe that was in place for safety reasons (assessment of...

Re: Sunday Bunches - Do you like this possible option?

To support Christian and Dougie, this is the exact reason why the bunches reversed their order a few years ago, to support those riders who get dropped and to encourage riders to transition to the faster group. Not long ago we had 3 groups, fasties went first and there was hesitation from stronger r...

Re: Waterfall this Saturday anyone?

I'd be interested to know what the Waterfall personal records (PR) of others are. Suppose should start another thread. Maybe according to groups; C28s, middies, fast middies and fasties. Will think about it. Off topic: My fasties pr is just short of 37km/hr. John, Wallman and Alex had their weetbix...

Thanks John. Looks like not the ride for me. Still in base training phase so nothing too aggressive for another few weeks. Enjoy the ride, should be a good morning for it!

Re: Waterfall this Saturday anyone?

Thinking of hitching a ride. Is it going to be an aggressive middies pace or relaxing middies pace? For me it's either this or 20 laps of centennial. Decisions decisions!

We will be there on the Saturday night and also one other night. Are they sticking to a standard event program? Wondering of Friday night or Sunday would be the one to go to.

Checked the baskets out. They are all rear ones (they attach to a rack)

If you can find a rack than I can sort you out with a basket!

Re: Strava Premium - is it worth it?

From what I have read is that the premium version has power related items, a few extra leaderboards as you described and the heart rate analysis. If you don't have a power meter than the value would be in the heart rate and leaderboards if you train by heart rate and you don't have software to analy...

Re: Adventure Ride - Where to next ?????

300-400m climb per peak is somewhat serious, depending on the grade. I forgot to reply to this statement. This is by no means an easy ride. It is harder than the Gorges ride as the climbs are longer and at points, steeper. The first time i rode this on 39-25 i suffered. From that moment on i ride 3...

Re: Adventure Ride - Where to next ?????

Brutality in Berry sounds interesting. What's the bail out option mid-loop? 300-400m climb per peak is somewhat serious, depending on the grade. Hmmm, bailout. I had never considered it being someone who thrives pointing upward <insert rude jokes here>. OK, bailout would be at Cambewarra just after...

Bugger. Waited for 20mins on cantebury road with no sign of riders. Checked the forum, a couple of drops appeared and went home.

We don't need a rain dance to get rain, just schedule a DHBC crit and we are guaranteed it!
