Thanks again all. More miles = Better endurance. More power = Lower HR. Nothing beats upping one's power. At Canberra this year, I was one of the better climbers in my race and you wouldn't rate me light at 77kg. The answer there is power to weight ratio. Yes do the K's to build the base, but make s...

Re: Anyone been to court?

Hi All, Thanks for the informative replies! I wasn't aware of the NRMA benefit. I will ring up and see what they can do for me on top of what has been written here below. Once this is done i intend to write up a detailed report as a reference for those who may need to one day go through this ordeal.

Anyone been to court?

Hi All, I am midway through a battle to get my bike repaired after a crash with a driver. I'll spare you the details as some of you have probably read it over on the ACF's... Anyway, the letter of demand has been ignored (i rang up and checked to see what intention they had of paying up), basically ...

Re: Kurrajong Classic Sunday 08 August 2010

Feeling like cr@p today after an eventful race yesterday. Took the advice of the more experienced riders and it paid off significantly! I made sure i was near the front on the descents & grab a good wheel on the climb. The first part i did well on, however on the two climbs i ended up on the lef...

Re: Kurrajong Classic Sunday 08 August 2010

In the context of this race I wouldn't expect it to make any difference whether you've entered as Elite or MMAS1 as you'll be graded on ability regardless. Does your license show you as an Elite rider or Masters 1? I can see other MMAS1 riders on the start list so it's likely that the wrong box has...

Re: Kurrajong Classic Sunday 08 August 2010

Would there be any reason why my classification has changed from MMAS1 to Elite Men for this event? I've been riding under MMAS1 for the entire year, but for this one they have me listed as Elite. Have Cycling NSW changed the age restrictions for masters?

I must have missed something yesterday - i was the lone ranger in red & black down there. It was pretty packed down there with football, afl & netball all busy. Medium sized bunches although B grade was huge. With 3 laps to go in C grade, some idiot decided to block the track by moving cones...

Re: Wagga Wagga McDonalds Classic Race Report

Thank you everyone! It was a pretty good weekend, plenty of good riders and the roads were very good. The locals pointed out the rough patches. One of the riders went on to say "there is a rough road coming up so watch all the holes". He obviously hasn't ridden through Sydney! I saw one po...

Re: Wagga Wagga McDonalds Classic Race Report

Criterium sunday morning. I was graded in F (no other DH riders on the day). 9am start, sign on at 8am. As i was warming up i noticed the grass was frozen. Large frost that morning! It took 45mins to eventually get warm, although the feet and hands were numb until 10mins into a hot shower... It was ...

Wagga Wagga McDonalds Classic Race Report

I headed down this weekend to participate in the abovementioned weekend of racing. I was graded in the 84km event (there was also 115km event for the quick guys). I was off limit +4mins (16mins). The bunch was full of locals with some ACT riders, female AIS riders and a handful of others including m...

Wanted: Polar HR Transmitter

Hi All,

If anyone has a spare Polar HR transmitter that you are not using and want to get rid of it ($$$), please contact me. My preference is a T31, but any non-coded one will probably do the job just the same.

Cheers

Wet and very windy out at Maroubra on Saturday which contributed to the lower than normal numbers. A grade was the largest pack (hardcore?) with the pack numbers tapering down with the grades. Only 4 DH riders today (from what i saw), we picked up a third and a first in C & D respectively. Paul ...

Guess there were "tactical mistakes" made by quite a number of riders and team managers. The press here are saying that the riders and team managers did not know sastre was in the breakaway until it was too late. If they knew earlier they would have chased them down. An error on their par...

Just saw Cadel 20kms from the finish line and he looked the goods. Got back to the hotel to find he won the stage! Go the Aussies, in contention for all jerseys thus far!

I'll post some pics up below. We were standing on the climb just after the end of the mud tracks at about the 15% gradient.

2010 Road Calendar?

Hi All, I've had a look on the Cycling NSW website for the event calendar and see that there is info on most of the events throughout the year now. I was wondering if the forum is going to have a list like last years 2009 calendar or whether it is run through the google calendar on the main website....

FWIW, i rode a Cannondale Cadd9 in France last year up the Alps. It was very comfortable, smooth, responsive. You can throw it round decending corners quite comfortably, rolls nice on the flats and it doesn't feel like you are lugging up an anchor on the climbs. I can't comment on race conditions th...
