That girl is traveling alone and trust me, there are no bike repairers at every street corner in that part of China. Spare parts are even less obtainable unless it's for a traditional heavy commute bike. Well then, she sounds like a trouble-maker. I must admit that I don't have any experience with ...

I think you could get away with touring like that in that part of the world. Crap bike, no tools, no tubes, one bottle of water - but there is a bike repair guy on every corner, and every householder has a drinks stall set up on the road. But it sounds to me like she's travelling with a loud entoura...

It's fine for a kid. Is it really? I just think those gear-shifting systems that don't work and are forever clacking away and mis-shifting would just turn a kid off cycling at all, or worse, be a hazard. What to do with a crap bike
Yesterday the cleaner at work gave me the bike his son bought, rode a couple of times, now refuses to ride. It's a Huffy "Mano" - a K-Mart special, double "suspension" mountain bike thingy. I mean, if they built simple single-speeds without shithouse suspension and gearing system...

Have you tried the Nunnery in Newtown? I thought it was only open on Mondays and, like, every seventh Groundhog day but only during a neap tide and not if your breakfast cereal contained folate. I'm just not able to make it there during the day on Monday, if that's when it's open. Oh wait, I checke...

My fixie project is goin' real slow. There have been a number of compatibility issues with the frame that have been slowing me down. That, along with spending pretty much all my spare time in the last several weeks on my bike. The latest, final, but most difficult issue (as I've told anyone who'll l...

NEWS FLASH: Non-doping cyclists finish 2007 TdF!
PARIS-A small but enthusiastic crowd of several dozen was on hand at the Tour de France's finish line on the Avenue des Champs-Élysées Tuesday to applaud the efforts of the 28 cyclists who completed the grueling 20-stage, 2,208.3-mile race without the aid of performance-enhancing drugs.

Looks like it cost me about 6'30''.
When the front tyre blew out, I was in the 2nd/3rd group, which eventually arrived +38' (Graham Norris, Mick Patton, Michael Sparke et al.). In the case that I finished in this group, still wouldn't have made up the time to take Dulwich Hill Black to 3rd in teams.

I'd like to do a long ride on Sat - could I come along? I desperate for Simon to show me the best chicken burgers. Simon, have you ridden your road bike over such long distances? Riding it might be a good idea if you want to learn about how your body goes over such distances on that bike - give you ...

Dave at Burwood Cycles seems like quite a nice guy. He gave time to look over the setup on my track bike. He flipped the stem (raising the bars) which felt a lot more relaxed (and enabled me to look up the track properly). He also dropped the saddle a tad, which felt too low at first, but have got u...
