Excellent. I've raced this one every year since I started racing, managed to not miss one, even the one where the entries only lasted about 6 minutes and I'll be eating breakie Tue 9am so almost a sure thing. Re: Dulwich Hill Individual Time Trail championship Sun 7th

1. We are running the championship using ATTA facilities. ATTA will be doing all marshaling and timing. 2. I think you are asking me about safety. The road is not closed but doesn't get a lot of traffic. Its out and back with a marshal on the turnaround point who will stop the car is there is one. I...

Re: Dulwich Hill Individual Time Trail championship Sun 7th

I've heard a lot about this course but never done it. For newbies like me, an elevation map can be viewed here: http://www.atta.asn.au/maps/calga.html#dh It's the 25k course. If feels flatter than it looks on the profile, the hills are more like false except for the bigger hill you can as a downhil...

Re: Adventure Ride - Windsor - November Sunday 23

So what's the decision? 1. Blue Mountains 3rd route (100k ???) Which Stu is keen on. Marrickville -> Windsor (coffee at the bakery) -> Springwood (beer) and a train 2. The Century, actually a little more (180k ???) Not Stu's cup of tea. Marrickville -> Wisman's (coffee and brunch) -> Hawkesbury rive...

Re: Dulwich Hill Individual Time Trail championship Sun 7th

I've updated the pricing in the original post;
$25 race license
$30 silver license
$15 juniors

Taken the suggestion of June/July on board as potential dates for 2015 champs, if this year is popular

Clarence st cup 8th Nov 2014

Arrived at the Senior's Clarence st Cup to find plenty of DHBC juniors wrapping up their riding and leaving, looked for the DHBC seniors and didn't find any, it seemed that I was the only Senior DHBC rider. Find this a bit surprising, considering the number of DHBC riders involved at club level raci...

2014 Gong Ride breakfast BBQ - 6am - 9am Sun 2nd Nov

Not riding in the Gong ride? Last year we stood at the side of the road and watched 10,000 cyclists go past, including some of the DHBC riders What I'm going to do is roll my BBQ down to the corner of Foreman st and Princess Hwy Tempe and park it on the grass in front of Ikea. We then enjoy a BBQ br...

Re: Adventure Ride - Windsor - November Sunday 23

Is that 100k or 160k? IMO 160k is too far for an inclusive Adventure Ride i.e. too far for me. There's 2 Windsor routes; 1. the long one that goes via Wisemans and is more than 160k off memory. The early part of the ride is hard, going over north side hills. From Wisemans its fairly easy following ...

Fixing flex in plastic soled bike shoes

I've heard a theory that the nylon in plastic soled shoes doesn't actually break down but what happens is that it gets impregnated with water and its this moisture that causes the increased flex. The solution being is to heat them in an oven at 60degC to dry out the moisture. Does someone want to pu...
