My disappointment in that path lies in the fact that the stop sign for the cars is past the cycleway with no warning for cars to slow down.

Re: How many kilometres did you ride in 2014?
In Strava, up the top you will see 'Training'. Go down to 'Training Calendar'. That will allow you to scroll between years. If you go to 'My Profile' and go to 'Training Log' on the right hand side this will allow you to see your activities on a month to month basis. It's a bit cumbersome and probab...

Fantastic Dougie... I think most members would be hard pressed to choose the Alpine Classic over the TDU after the reports from James and yourself! And congratulations to Will and nice work from Taku. I think it's great seeing so many Juniors covering those km's. Is Charlotte next? I agree re. the C...

Re: How many kilometres did you ride in 2014?
Every time you go for a ride on the road or track (not spin) you count the kms. You could write them in a little book or make a spreadsheet. Then add them up like this: Ride 1 km + Ride 2 km ... + Ride n = Total :-) Personally I use a Garmin and Strava just tells me. This forum needs a 'like' butto...

Re: Sydney Rides Business Challenge
JLL are up and running!
I like this as it only takes 1 ride to count and is based on a % of staff participating rather than number of km's traveled (though they include that too).
So it will hopefully add more of an incentive to just ride a bike, rather than trying to break any distance records.

9510km for me. More than I thought.
Not quite as many as 2013 where I cracked the 10,000 but hoping to get out of bed more often this year.

8479 for me. Less than last year where I cracked 10,000. I thought doing an Ironman the km's would climb with all the training but I didn't factor in the 6 weeks off after it!

Christmas Rides and the Rapha Festive 500
Those of you on Strava would have noticed that the Rapha Festive 500 Challenge is on again. Ride 500km's in 8 days between the 24th December and 31st December to work off those mince pies and earn a woven badge in the process. As per last year I thought I would create a post to allow people to post ...

Hmmmm... I lived in Newcastle when this was first proposed. The idea being to remove the rail line and replace it with light rail. Santini? I've bought a few pairs at the TDU of ex defunct pro teams etc. for about $20 each and they're almost the best shorts I own.
The best I DO own though are the Specialized Lululemon ones that Eleri and I wear. Oh, and Vanderkitten. Both of which I bet you'd LOVE to be seen in.

Ride to Conquer Cancer 2015
For about 3 years in a row DHBC have had a strong contingent at the Ride to Conquer Cancer. This is a 2 day event held in October to raise funds for the Chris O'Brien Lifehouse in Camperdown. For those on Twitter and Instagram, the Daily Telegraph is running a campaign to #snapsydney and have the photo go into a time capsule.
The suggestion has been made to post as many cycling related/bike path photos as possible with #snapsydney and #saveourcycleways hashtag.
And... Go.

Karzie, are you suggesting that motorists who hit cyclists don't seem to be able to be sued for negligence? Instead tend to get a slap on the wrist and a small fine?
