Re: Waterfall ride: Middies vs Fasties

Love my Speedplays. Got Zeros on both bikes. Dual sided entry is a plus, walking is a nightmare. Get the coffee shop covers if you plan to take more than one step from your bike!! Apart from the initial 'skating on ice' effect, I wont use anything else. I had to dial out most of the float anyway to ...

Apparently this is a one use item. Once deployed it needs to be replaced. I guess a normal helmet has only one true use, but I could see this going off every time you have a spill but it minor or major.

C?? (Everyone) Ride Report - July 22nd

10 foolish individuals (including myself) set off in the rain for a ride to Waterfall. Some bailed after the bridge on Taren Point Rd. D Grade Report I suspect there was a bit of 'grade grubbing' from both Manly and SUVelo. A lot of strong sprinters in the group. Pace was a mere 34km/hr for the majority of the race. Russell got a flat and retired around 20mins or so in. I tried a few attacks off the front but without any support I...

Racing on again this Sunday @ Heffron. Assuming the forecast is accurate, racing should be on (rather than rained out like May/June). I'll be in D grade until I get booted out.

I'll be heading over from the Marrickville Rd Cafe @ 6.15. Let me know if you want to ride over.

Re: Ultegra vs. Rival

Thanks all. I'm steering towards ultegra. Will be test riding a Focus Izalco Pro 3.0 with Sram Force on Thursday (weather permitting). Once I get a feel for how this shifts, I might have a better idea. Also, now I've had a good look around i'm struggling on taking a stance on manufacturer. At the $4...

Ultegra vs. Rival

Hi All, After the recent demise of my frame (cracked on Sunday), I'm keen to make the move to carbon with a budget of around $4k. At the moment I'm tossing up between a Cervelo S2 ($3200 with Cheeky) with with Rival and a Pinarello FPQuattro with Ultegra ($4k Clarence St) (both with crappy wheels). ...

Re: Bike Insurance - Is it Worth it?

I'm with Velosure. They seemed to have the best cover when i was looking. Here is my coverage:

Total sum insured: $2,000.00
Annual premium: $216.59
Monthly premium: $18.05
Excess: Accident $250 / Theft $350

This does not include my new wheels....

Re: Invitation from Zeal of Zebras ride 27/10/11

@Tod511 I'll be riding my usual commute to the city from Summer Hill and dropping my bag at work (Chifley Tower). If time permits, i'd be keen for brekky also, but need to grace the office by 9am. As i've still not made it to the track for a jersey, i'll stick to the black and white theme. (unless i...

Training Tyres

I've been running Conti GP4000 for the past x3 sets for training/commuting. What is everyone else using that offers good rolling resistance, grip, puncture prevention balance?

Makes sense to get going early. Hopefully all are looped in on the 6am start time as I would have shown up at the usual 6.30am start time. Is it worth PM each of those who have agreed to join?

When I ride Waterfall it is with the C25 group. I'm happy to be pushed a little until Waterfall and once in the RNP I don't mind if I am left behind on the climbs.
Spiros - That would be the plan, stick as a bunch and regroup after the climbs.

Thanks Eleri,

I really enjoyed the ride around Akuna Bay. I'd definitely be keen for that again, but add in West Head. Any takers? Would have to be an early start with a few less pit stops as the traffic starts to get a bit nuts on the return via Mosman.

From my perspective he has carbon, you have steel - that's an unfair advantage right there.
