There certainly is plenty of info from Mick. I had a look through the 7 plus volumes of his cycling scrap book a couple of weeks ago. It is not only a gold mine in terms of DHBC history but there is also some pretty amazing source on the history of cycling in Australia.

I've been thinking of putting some proper track bars on the apollo.
Hillbrick have some Nitro steel bars for $98 in 38 40 42 and 44 cm sizes.
Does anyone have any advice with the sizes?

so there are two schools of thought here:

Have clipless pedals and you might not hurt your knee. use clips and straps and you might avoid pull out off your pedals (and crashing). Seems to me that there is no logical conclusion to this problem. To clip or not to clip, that is the question?

That Malvern Star your helped me get parts for is going great and I ride it all the time. I just had to get a new crank arm. I still haven't found parts to fix up the Apollo but will get onto it sometime.

I don't think small bunches of 4 to 5 riders are a problem in terms of saftey on the ride from 7/11 to bestic st. the traffic is usally not that bad. its just a matter of staying together. I'm for the 3rd sunday at 6:30am because it allows people outside of marrickville the extra 30mins to get there...
