Example session
15 minutes easy rolling laps on an easy gear (eg 82") with a gradual windup from 30km/h up to around 40km/h if unassisted, if a motorbike is available, the windup can go up to 45-60km/h depending on the fitness and training phase, alternatively this can be done on rollers.
5 mins easy noodling around the infield
One rolling acceleration for 30-50 meters
5 ,mins easy noodling around the infield
One flying effort, accelerating off the bank and doing 0-100 metres at pace
20 minutes rest
3-4 blocks of effort, with approx 20 minutes recovery between blocks. A block may consist of a single longer effort such as a flying 200, motorpaced acceleration etc, or a set of very short efforts such as quarter lap standing starts or rolling accelerations.
Warmdown, 10-15 laps at a very low intensity or 5-10 minutes on rollers or a little gear 500m windout, generally windouts are done after heavy strength work such as standing starts while the 10-15 laps or roller warmdown is usually done after a power, speed or speed-endurance focused session.
This would generally take around two to three hours depending on the number of riders participating in the session.

Thats brilliant I reckon! So he is turning that into a book? Would buy that for sure!
In my short time around the track it seems much/most of the info around is aimed
at endurance riding, so info about sprinting is very welcome!

Tim/Simon/Alex - what did you guys think of his training ideas?

And a related question - he suggests in one of the first sections that some (I'm not
sure what portion) of what he writes is not ideal for riding kilos? What parts do you
guys think would be modified?

What would Sean Eadie know? Has he ever won anything?

I saw him down Miranda Westfield on Monday eating junk food.

Everyone went to the pharmacy back then. Prescriptions were optional.

Don't have anything to learn from someone with this record?
Never failed a drug test I don't think, and the stuff with the package
sent to him never looked like much to me.

I think the irony was somehow lost on you Patn. That list does not include the 1994 NSW Match Sprint championships when he blew me to pieces by nearly a length of the Tempe track in my one and only sprint against him. He of course went on to win the event. That was back in the days when I could go fast too.

Clearly lost on me, my apologies :)

A bit out? I would assume that he (who helps coach the Aussie sprinters etc etc) would be pretty up to date. This is aimed at match sprinters

The amount of protein he is subscribing is greater than what bodybuilders use. Your body can't use that much protein. Also there's no info about the timing on consumption.

I suspect he has got confused between Body Weight and Lean Body Mass

Yeah. Agreed. He won his rainbow jersey on a bike with a BMX stem mounted on it. Lucky he wasn't racing on a set of Skyway Tuffs too.

When I first started riding the track it was all about sprinting and Tempe only produced match sprinters and not so much anything else. The whole regime was aimed at sprinting and it was very successfull, I saw Patty work up from a club rider to a state champion, to an oceanian champion in the match sprint. It was funny because at the time it was the opposite in that people said that it was only sprint training that 'we didn't do enough training.'

I think that most of what Eaddie says is pretty straight forward stuff, though I've heard it heard it before as I've had a few friends trained by him over the years too. It depends on what kind of rider you are to whether or not it will be successful, though as Lindsay says more training is better than less training. But I'll tell you later in person.
