Time to start thinking about entering the Tamworth Tour. It takes place on August 11-12th. Probably the easiest of the tours around in terms of course difficulty and plenty of fun.

I'll post some more details here Sunday night (hopefully).

Ok, some info on the tour. Entries close on Sunday, with a cost of $80.

The course is fairly flat and basically the same for each stage, though with some changes in distance for some. Most of the hills are easy enough, though there is one approximately 10km(from memory) away from the finish which is a good place for attacking or getting dropped if you're suffering, though in most cases it's easy enough to get back on. The finish is a nice uphill slog, perfect for someone with a lot of power and some teammates, with the last 2-3km being a nice steady drag. 2yrs ago we split the bunch for ths finish, though that was with 4 of us putting the power down.

The accomodation is cheap, and the food at the RSL club is plentiful, but we do have to leave on Friday due to the 9am start on Saturday.

Hopefully some of you will enter and enjoy the competition.

I'll probably be entering Sunday as usual. Eugen will be entering too. A lift isn't a problem as Alan will be going, and if we get enough people i can drive as well.

I don't think I've found any definite info about entries, but think I've picked up that you simply enter on the day. Is this true? Is there an online entry form?

Entry is online on the cycling nsw website. http://www.nsw.cycling.org.au/

Just scroll down to event entry and go through the online entry system. Generally entries close 2weeks before the race. The only one i know of that you can enter on the day is Blayney to Bathurst.

Interesting Grading decisions..... They stuck me in Div5, though i'd rather be in Div4, maybe i'll be able to change it...

Eugen on the other hand will be in Div2. Most likely due to his performance at Muswellbrook.

Well, i'm trying to get some K's in, but i have to squeeze out some more free time. Hopefully my LED's will turn up soon so i can build my light and get some night training done (more very early morning), as my only free days are going to be 6th and 7th of September, but being the week before Grafton i need to get some riding done before. The Uni Pub Crawl last night probably won't help too much, but i don't plan to have another before Grafton.

Anyway, i spoke to Eugen, he agreed with me trying to move myself to D-Grade, but we'll find out if it's going to happen on Saturday.

Great news from the Tour of Tamworth. For James in Div 5 he won KOM in the first stage then went on to win it from a breakaway after that. In the second stage he once again formed a break away with 2 other riders & came third - giving him a 2 minute overall lead with one stage to go tomorrow.

For Eugen in Div 2 he's got a 3rd in the first stage & 2nd in second stage and again is looking good for a win tomorrow.

Well done lads good luck for tomorrow's stage - James 75km & Eugen 120km.

A bit of miscommunication. I didn't win the KOM, i just attacked at that point on stage 1 and finished 1min10sec in front of the bunch. Stage 2 is the only one with the KOM, but i let another guy have it, as i was looking for some allies since i only had Hans Visch from eastern suburbs to help me.

Eugen ended up 3rd overall, i remained in 1st, but i'll get a race report up tomorrow hopefully, just hoping i haven't caught a cold.
