Anyone know anything more about this 170km race?

It sounded to be a race aimed at pro teams rather than the amateur ranks.

Eugen does this race.

From what I can gather you need to sit in the bunch at low to mid 40's to stop yourself being eliminated.

It's a long way home if you get eliminated too early.

You can continue as normal traffic if you are eliminated, so its not all bad.

Providing there isn't a head wind, I don't see the first 80k being anymore difficult than what I did out at Penrith Lakes or the Ride for Life in 2 weeks time. The real race will happen after the elimination point.

Citigroup have sponsored it, so its now called Goulbourn to Citi.

They are encouraging charity based teams to ride earlier in the day. 10 to a team, and minimum of $25,000k charity money raised per team to be able to compete.

There is a chance this will turn into a true classice of another 80kms right into the City, which is what Citi wants. These discussions are underway.

I have historically sponsored some of the citi stock brokers who have done this ride. if you enter a team then you can ride with your team. last year there were 2 distances. a shorter distance was for the less serious riders. was still a hard ride from what i heard.
