Glad they got a 3 year sponsor, but it would have been nice if they were sponsored by someone wholesome like a florist or a pet shop. I guess you can't have it nice all the time. When are Bernard going to go Pro Continental?

COOPERS GREENedge

150 year old Aussie owned and operated. Better than sponsoring Jumps racing and its good beer, well Sparkling is better.

Yessssssss

And in about ten years when they win the tour a longneck would be heaps better than a pissy little glass of bubbly.Classy as hell.
I would get the kit, the stubbie holder and the fridge magnet.

Allegedly $9mill/annum. http://www.sportspromedia.com/news/gree ... e_partner/

Sounds OTT to me based on AFL/NRL numbers, but I don't know the value of other sponsorships in pro cycling

AFL/NRL is limited to people within Australia. Green Edge will take Orica to every continent.

Yeah but the football codes give you mainstream coverage on FTA TV and Pay. Outsude of Europe (which isn't a mining hotbed) cycling is pretty marginal as a sport in terms of press

And OTT = over the top

Not surprisingly, ProBikeKit and bicycleexpress (latter is Aussie) are discounting their kit. Both are about the same price. About $60 for jersey and $70 for bibs. So get your kit while GreenEdge is still pure.

Thanks Geoff - I was looking at these last night as Michele suggested we get some to wear at the Giro .... It's too late for Probikeit for us but there's these

Cycling Express - $60 for the 14cm zipper version >> http://www.cyclingexpress.com/cycling/c ... thing.aspx

$69 for the 14cm zipper or $100 for the 'pro' fitted version with full length zipper here >> http://www.abcoutlets.com.au/shop/greenedge_2012_jersey
