I want to try out my new tent and have found a ride that looks good to do as an easy weekend involving scenery, camping, campfire, beverages and gloworms.
Day one 58km-train to Bell then ride to newnes via the glowworm tunnel-camp at newnes campground and have a big fire and cook awesome food
mainly fire trail-should be o.k might have to walk round a few obstacles-lots of downhill

Day two-50 kms ride to lithgow and catch train back-on road/part sealed with a climb
am thinking spring maybe14th&15 sept (could change)
is anyone interested in this kind of thing?

Me, too. The only bike I have that is capable of carrying tents etc is an old heavy mountain bike. But I can meet up with you at the campsite if I'm too slow!

Old heavy mountain bike is perfect. I'll be riding my touring bike which is probably heavier anyway :)
The first day has lots of downhill and flat. The second day has a climb so nice mountain bike gearing sounds good. Neither day is very long so it doesn't matter how slow we are. This trip is mainly about the camping, hanging out. I'll be the slow one but it's the vibe, the constitution… it's mabo

p.s we might even end up with a sag wagon to carry some gear

I have changed the date so my friend Nicole could come. She had a baby in December and hasn't had any babyfree adventures since so she reeeealy wants to come. I think she will get her hubby to drive to the campsite(with our stuff) and baby. This is a good option for people with non riding partners. Get them to drive there and put up your tent :) It's a nice spot for bushwalking/canyoning.
The plan -train from central 8.18am gets to Bell at 10.49am. Should be plenty of time but bring lights for going through tunnels and forcamping.
Trains back on sunday are only every two hours.I think the 3.37pm looks good. Gets back at 6.31.
And now a list!!who's in?
