You might want to register this with Lindsay so that it's a recognized training ride by the club. There are implications for our Cycling Australia's membership insurance.

Weiyun - Don't put the jinx on us!

It's on the site - isn't that officially registered?

After our last discussion on this subject, my understanding is that either Lindsay records it so that it's recognised by the club as official or you'll need to record it in your own training log book. The advantage of having the club record it is that every Cycling Aust member in the group is automatically covered. A few forum posts don't count. Nothing superstitious here but a case of being fully prepared. Yet again, if you have BicycleNSW's membership, all these become somewhat redundant as their insurance policy is far less restrictive.

Thanks for the info Weiyun - I'll email Lindsay and formally register it. And I'll finally get around to joining us up with bicycle NSW today!

The interesting thing about BicycleNSW's insurance is that it covers you whenever you are on a bike, while Cycling Aust's coverage are only "training" related. So in other words, BicycleNSW's coverage is much broader. But in any case, there's never harm in double insurance.

Have fun on Sat! :D

As far as the ride "being on the site", I think that only covers the rides that are on the main page.

As far as asking people here if they want to go on a ride, I would be surprised if CA would accept that as an official club training ride as anyone and everyone can post them.
