Absolutely correct - See this SMH Article - he is on the reserve list for the Cervelo Test Team but sounds pretty pissed off about not riding

Actually it's on SBS 1 and 2 so you don't need an HD set top box - you do however need one if you want to watch it in HD, but that means you need an HD TV as well If you want to see HD - otherwise it will just show in SD

Dekker indiscretion bad news for Evans

Thomas Dekker's removal from Silence-Lotto's Tour de France squad following the announcement that his biological passport profile rendered suspicious values is a blow for team leader Cadel Evans, although the Australian is looking ahead rather than dwelling on the news.

Dekker has been placed on non-active status and will consequently miss the Tour, which starts in Monaco on Saturday. While Dekker was brought to the Belgian squad as reinforcement for Evans' Tour challenge, the apparent infraction in question occurred during his tenure with Rabobank. UCI anti-doping officials called for further testing of an out-of-competition sample taken on Christmas Eve two years ago.

"He found out on Wednesday morning that fresh analysis, carried out in May at the behest of WADA, on urine samples from a random doping control had turned up positive for EPO," Silence-Lotto management said in a statement.

Hmm - can't agree there! Looks like the tour is over for Cadel as far as the GC is concerned, I just hope he actually tries to win a stage this year but won't hold my breath as I've never seen him attack in the TdF.
An Astana (or possibly a Schleck?) rider must be favourite now - please, please anyone but Lance!

I agree, chance of yellow jersey in Paris for Cadel is getting very very slim. He can't beat Contador in the mountains, he can't beat Contador and others in the TTs, so can't see how he can make up the time lost.

Astana is playing a very shrewd game here with two trump cards.

I'm loving that no teams are helping Colombia chase down the breakaways. I love a good sprint as much as the next guy, but it's much more exciting watching a breakaway hold off to win.

It was great watching Thomas Voekler win stage 5. Not a big Cavendish fan either, I have to say.

I was hoping that David Millar would hang on to win but at least Cavendish didn't win again. Seems that Rogers is cursed at the tour, especially as be was brought down by Aussie / German Heinrich Haussler. Poor bastard.

Sprinter hill in CP has an elevation rise of 35m. Barcelona to finish line for St 6 is 1.3km into the sky.

Carlos Sastre fell early on in the race but was unaffected by the crash. His teammates José Angel Marchante and Heinrich Haussler also fell. Haussler, never one to be outdone, crashed twice in one stage.

"I went down on a slick spot coming out of a round-about," Haussler explained of the crash which also brought down Columbia-HTC's Michael Rogers and George Hincapie. "It was just so wet there, my front wheel just slid out."

I must say though Lance likes to smash everyone on 1st mtn st. See 99 - 05 TdF's. Rmbr Hautacam...but think AC will sit on LA + jump him.

yeah, I'm finding the tour a bit soporific this year - no one wants to have a go and challenge Astana at any time - where is the Jens Voigt led crushing of the peleton, the breakaways that actually contain contenders for the GC? It's all very same same every day - certain riders are allowed to escape, the peleton cruses along and if it's flat than Columbia push the pace at the end and that tosser Cav wins it. If it's a mountain stage then then a breakaway rider wins, as long as they are not threat to the GC - I mean look at the guy who's wearing yellow now on the back of one breakaway win and Astana even said they were "lucky not to get the yellow that day". It's all too boring for me.

The decent, that ended with a corkscrew drop to the finish at Bourg Saint Maurice, was as crucial to the race as it was dangerous - German Jens Voigt (Saxo Bank), with the 16-strong yellow group after dropping back from leader and last among them to cross the mountain, had a terrible crash.

Voigt seemingly struck something on the road at full speed on the decent and skidded on his side for almost 50 metres before finally coming to a stop.

He was taken by ambulance to Bourg Saint Maurice Hospital, and later moved by helicopter to Grenoble.

A full diagnosis of his injuries is still pending, but latest reports were that he has sustained serious contusions to his face and elbow.

I think Kloden would have dropped off at any rate. Kloden dropped a long way behind so he was most probably riding beyond his limit. That last part of the hill was pretty steep.
Armstrong played his part very well.

Kloden may be riding at the limit, but it does not need to be exacerbated by his own team mate through an unnecessary attack. Neither AC nor AK needed to gain time on the Schleck brothers in St 17. They'll both gain time during the ITT.

I was gutted when my favourite rider, Jens Voigt, crashed but Saxo still piled on the pressure (with Astana too) and they got what they wanted - Wiggins dropped down the order by > 2mins and no longer a threat to GC via the ITT

Now, I'm not surprised by this at all:

"Coucke, the chief executive of Omega Pharma, that is the main sponsor of the team and has veto over who is signed or not, yesterday confirmed that the emergence of Belgian teammate Jurgen Van den Broeck, 26, was an issue, and strongly indicated that he is seen as the way forward for the team.

"We don't want to get rid of Cadel. I can assure you this. This is the last time Cadel will be the only leader in this team. Next year if Cadel is on the team Van den Broeck will be at the same level, as co-leader - if not above him," Coucke said.

Coucke then revealed how he regarded Van den Broeck already, when referring to Silence-Lotto's poor team time trial that saw the team lose more the two minutes 27 seconds after the Belgian rider was left behind after crashing. Van den Broeck was later furious that the team did not wait for him.

"It starts with a team time trial [stage four] where we forgot to wait for our leader. Bon, he wasn't then our leader ..." Coucke said.

Whoops - I thought Cadel was the leader! - at least at that stage!! Bloody Belgians

"You have to look at Cadel's past. He was one of the great hopes. He had a horrible time at T Mobile. Then he went to a little team [Lotto] that little by little rose to a world level. Two times second in the Tour was fantastic. He did a lot for our team as well," Coucke said.
"We would have preferred four years ago that Cadel was Belgian. Cadel would have preferred that our team was Australian. But that doesn't exist.

No I missed that. But does anyone think Contador is a drug cheat? I mean he seems to be way too good up those hills and for him to also do that well in the time trial against Cancelera seems superhuman. Then again - Lance is a freak for even getting into the top 10 after his hiatus.

I just can't tell anymore. I just know the last person to be that strong on the hills was Bernard Cole and it took months for him to get busted after the Tour. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt, and hope they are all as clean as my Cadel!!

It appears as though Lance Armstrong is third in the overall GC. Not bad for a comeback! Andy Schleck is second and Alberto Contador first. I really like the outfits the podium girls get to wear... this rather than the food tour pulls me in! (as well as the cycling).

If that article was the only info on the subject that i received I would come to the conclusion that it is Armstrong not Contador who is the one that doesn't like the team. After not celebrating with fellow(current) Astana team mates but instead dining with future team players from Radio Shack it makes it look like the opposite.

Actually, most non-Kazak and Spanish team members of Astana wouldn't mind LA's decision to dine and talk deals with RS backers. After all, LA was working on their 2010 team. And with Contador openly dismissing the Astana squad in his victory, I doubt many were in the mood to celebrate with him.

According L'Equipe today, LA, Kloden, Popovych, Rast, Zubeldia, Brajkovic, Levi and Horner are all going to RadioShack. Even Andy Schleck has been flagged to make the crossing. With AC probably going elsewhere, Vino might be the sole rider on Astana.

I'm not so sure Andy Schleck would be joining Lance. Especially if he want's to be able to challenge for the tour win. It would end up the same situation as Astana this year.

I reckon Lance is a sore loser!!
