. . .that is the question. (?)

Dates for Evandale 2012:
The Century Ride : Saturday18 February 2012
National Penny Farthing Championships : Saturday 25 Feb
The Clarendon 32km Road Race : Sunday 26 Feb

There is still a tentative booking for the whole floor of the Clarendon Arms Hotel.
It sleeps a maximum of 14, costs around $23 per night if it's a group booking. (It can be a bit noisy on Friday and Saturday nights).
(Personally, I'm considering a "better offer" for accommodation in 2012)

As for touring from 19 Feb to 23 Feb, I haven't decided what I'll do. James "Tbone" Fowler probably wont be riding The Century or touring due to other commitments.
Does anybody want to tour/organise a tour ?

Camilla and I are having a year off Tassie touring. But I've definitely not finished with the place - I'd love to do the East Coast one of these years. Or pretty much anything which doesn't involve the Western Tiers.

Hey Ted,

You're a champion. I was going to make some beer coasters for those who triumphed, but never got around to it.

I might still do it if I get some spare time. Here is the design which I ripped off from a Cascade Premium Lager label...

Roadkill would probably be a more appropriate logo. Maybe you could make them scratch'n'sniff, just to bring back all those good memories.

So who is going down to Tassie?

I am thinking of going down for the weekend, just trying to figure out logistics as I don't think getting the Friday off work is going to be an option.

Would love to do the Century again but getting down for two weekends seems like a stretch. Flights direct to Launceston from Canberra are expensivo :(

I have a plan for Tassie Jan 2013 .. Start in Hobart in late 2nd week Jan for the MONA / FOMA (MoFo) alternative arts festival http://mofo.net.au/ then ride up the east coast - although that may involve motorbikes rather than bicycles, I'm still to decide

All bits I haven't seen and would like to see. Although it would be a pity to go to Tassie in summer and not be there for the penny-farthing races. Writing that made me call to mind the Clarendon Arms Hotel in Evandale, and I shuddered at its squalor. Not your kind of place, Stuart. Not sure I could face it again myself.

James and I are only going down for the race weekend this year. (I may change my mind and go down and back for the Century as well)
Let Di Sullivan know if you will be attending (she will be pleased).

How much will it cost for the weekend?
Race entry $25
Fri, Sat, Sun evening meals about $30 (for the three)
Di may be able to organise a billet for your accommodation

Airfares $69 each way with Jetstar (carry-on only)

Hi Everyone... Got 2 takers for Penny Century and touring, that is Gokulan & myself. Details so far for tour = clean slate... I really enjoyed the West Coast tour of last year and would be happy to do that again. Anyway if anyone's got any ideas???

We are flying in to Hobart on the 13th and will ride a zig zag route to Evandale arriving on the 24th.
We are meeting my sister and brother-in-law there and will try to get a B&B for the 4 of us.
