Well I have got my niece started early. She is 8 and is slowly developing a love for cycling that didn't start for me until 12 months ago.

However, her bike is too small. So, time to get a new one! 8)

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what bike to get? Our budget is quite small, probably only $200-$300 or so and we'd hope to get her one that will last her a few years. Am I best just heading on to eBay to look for something? Does anyone have a bike their kids have grown out of that they would be willing to sell?

Any help would be great.

Hey Jo,

Caitlin has a 20" single speed which is in good condition. Covered in dust from the renovation. You may be able to convert it to geared if required.

PM me if your interested in having a look

Jo
I’m in a similar situation looking for a 20" for my 7 year old, not a lot listed on bike exchange second hand and ebay seems to be filled with ex kmart brands (no I’m not being snobby, you should see what I ride :)
Havnt noticed anything majorly negative floating around the interweb regarding this Polygon brand, they looks quite well spec-ed for the $ and are about a third cheaper than a Giant or Specialised

Get her a BMX .... Find the local BMX track and enter her in a race.
