This is great event. Had fun last year. Lets get lots of DHBCers along to this ... great excuse for lunch & coffee at the very least.

On Saturday October 13, Sydney’s Bourke Street Cycleway will be filled with bikes from all walks of life as the Woop! Rolling Festival rolls back into town.

Spanning the length of the cycleway between Waterloo and Woolloomooloo, there will be numerous festival hubs with live music stages, free bike tune-ups, great food, market stalls, prizes, giveaways and so much more. Many local retailers along the route will also be participating offering discounts on the day. The patron saint of Sydney’s cycleways Lord Mayor Clover Moore will also address the festival at the Taylor Square Stage at 12:30pm.

When: Saturday, October 13, 2012 12pm-4pm
Where: Bourke Street Cycleway. Spanning from Danks Street Plaza, Waterloo, to Cowper Street Warf, Woolloomooloo.
Who: Woop! Rolling Festival.

Unfortunately, it's the same weekend as the "Ride to Conquer Cancer".

I'll be manning a stand at the swap meet with some of my buddies. They'll probably be having a few beers throughout the day and it will be a good scene, welcome to hang out with us Andrew. Dress of the day is cutoff jeans and a patterned button-up shirt.
This was great fun last year. Every kook on a bike in Sydney turned up and there was so much hi-viz and patchouli in the air, not to mention more recumbents than I thought existed. Good times.

Hi Andrew - I'm going to this and I know some others are too. We'll probably leave Marrickville area at about 11:20ish. Will most likely ride via the std slowies route to join the cycleway at around Telopea St then ride Nth planning to be at Taylor Sq by 12:30 to hear / support Clover Moore. Most likely meeting point is cnr Marrickville & Illawarra but I'll re-post as this firms up. I'll be on my shopping bike.

Hmm I have to decide if I should go to saturday slowies tomorrow with a change of clothes in my panniers and hang around after to meet you guys (which would mean I can't ride my fixie for maximum hipster points) or if I should skip slowies and just ride there on the fixie, or third option do slowies, ride home, change clothes and bikes and ride back :P

Fixie and small backpack? :-)

I'm planning to roll along. I'll be in CP mid-morning and probably be lurking at St Jude's cafe on Bourke rd, I'll keep an eye out for you guys.

Hmm yeah traditionally I don't like backpacks but maybe I'll take one with me on slowies, if the cafe is opening around that time they might even be nice enough to let me store it there...
