Like most riders in DHBC I have a fixed interest. So I thought this photo essay/report on the 7th Red Hook Criterium might be of some interest to some.

To give some background on the race, one turns as one must, to Wikipedia.
Red Hook Crit is an annual, unsanctioned bicycle race held on a springtime night on track bikes. It began as an underground event but has grown to become "what is possibly the country's coolest bike race."
A little taste of the action*:

* yes, it was bucketing down for the race.

Im actually going to be entering and racing this next year. At least the first round in Brooklyn then depending on how I go, I might enter the rest of the series as well. i went over and raced last year and it was insane. I didn't even qualify. The riders are so talented and so fast. But next year I'll have a hell of a better shot now that I've really started working on my fitness. Should be awesome!
