Cycling caps

Has anyone thought of doing cycling caps we all wear them but we don't have any club ones that match out kits. If we could put some numbers together we might be able to get a run done.

Hi all - as the club kit wrangler I have been asked about caps before. Our kit supplier, Cuore, now does do caps and bandannas. I've not seen a sample of these but I'll talk to Drew.

The DHBC ones I currently have are from Champion Systems with red / white stripes on the top and DHBC under the brim. I also have a woollen one somewhere.

A new kit order is about to be placed so I'll add 25 caps (price would be around $20 but TBC) and I'll do bandanna's only if the demand is there (at least 10). There's no photos on the Cuore website of these products.

So don't bother with the list unless you want to 'stake a claim' on one or you'd like a bandanna.

Cheers - Stuart

I've had a couple of different Cuore caps in the past and found the lightweight variety tend to fall apart and fray around the brim and not be as durable compared to the heavier(thicker) one.

Personally I don't wear caps while riding as they're usually too tight (head too fat) and give me headaches - I'm a bandanna man :-)

We don't have to get them from Cuore. I'm happy for Neil or whoever to outsource to a different supplier but you'll have to deal with taking orders and payments. With Cuore the club pays up front.

The Champion Systems ones the club has got in the past are fairly thin synthetic but Peter B sure got good wear out of his :-)

I'll check this thread in a few days to see the decision

Damn! I'm surprised there wasn't more interest, was really looking forward to these caps to finish off the DHBC kit. Maybe there's many others who aren't on the forum who may be keen. Possibly spread the word after Saturdays ride at the cafe. My 2 cents worth.

So following discussions at #rideForMike 30 caps will now be ordered. The design is not finalised and Cuore are on holidays till 26th April. I'll post up a photo when I have the design mockups.

Just curious, why 25 caps? My understanding was there would be 30 caps ordered per post on 11 Apr 2017, 11:12

Re: Cycling caps

Hi Peter, given I ordered on the 25th Oct and the first list prior to that only had 13 names on it, we thought 25 caps would be adequate. Note also there were some committee changes in that time.

We weren't sure about the popularity of this item, hence the small order.

See you at Slowies.
