This one is for the triathletes in the club
This is a circa 1990 Quintana Roo Superform triathlon/TT bicycle. This US-made steel bike was originally from Melbourne and was bought second hand by the previous Sydney owner in Melbourne in 1991 or 1992. It supposedly belonged to a Victorian pro triathlete (unidentified at the moment).
These bikes are significant because they were the first ever bikes built around the new aerodynamic handle bar. Because of the more forward seating position needed in an aero tuck, it was found necessary to push the seat tube angle forward to 80 degrees (normal bikes are 72 or 73 degrees). Strangely enough, they also used tiny 650c wheels. These bikes were built between 1989 to 1993 and used extensively in international triathlons around the world.

I had a Quintana Roo for my Ironman. Looked a little different to that!
