Every year, the last weekend before Christmas, RBCC holds pudding races at Heffron Park.

This year is no exception, and on 20th December (Saturday Week) the Pudding Races are on again. All placegetters get a Christmas pudding in addition to the usual prizemoney.

I propose that we all get out there and take a big stack of puddings from the Randwick boys (& girls).

Racing, starts at 4.00pm for B C & D grades, but afterwards the Bike Bug 500 will be raced for A grade. It will be a good race to watch, since the $500 cash often brings some high profile racers out.

If there's interest, we could bring along a BBQ, and set up a bit of an end of year picnic on the infield. RBCC also have a canteen for any extra supplies. I know the club has a few cycling widows. Why not get the wives, girlfriends, kids, grandparents, whoever down to watch you race, and then watch the big boys race? It's free to watch, but we might have to charge $5 for the BBQ...

Who's in for racing?
Who wants a BBQ?
Who wants to round up some slowies for the cheer squad?

I was just checking this out on RBCC's site and thought of participating, but noted that there's no D grade (old C). If so, then I won't be in. Where did you get the information that they'll have A to D grade on offer?

Weiyun, there is always D grade, but the prizemoney won't be as deep (to 6th place) as the other grades. I won a pudding last year in D grade.

Yes, I realize that there were D grades in the past but this year's notice did not specify D (see the news item on their site). I was just querying if D was accidentally left out or they've altered the arrangement. Needs confirmation.

Haha. That's hilarious Tim. Not that you can't come, but the change in your tone from coming to not coming. There was a total elapsed time of 1 minute between your two posts.

I may come down & ride A grade for the fun of it. Not sure yet if I will keep racing up to then or just have a break after the state titles....

It's next weekend, so you won't lose much form if you aren't riding, just like i won't gain much before then if i do some riding.

I spoke with Bucko yesterday at Heffron, apparently other than the Bike Bug 500 for A Grade, there will only be a handicap for B and C grade riders. D Grade riders can ride, but will be handicapped as C grade riders.

Obviously this make's it a bit hard for D graders, so I'll have to update my bike from my 1982 Apollo 12 speed to my 1953 Hetchins 10 speed in order to remain competitive.

Thanks for the confirmation on D grade status. Did Bucko say why there wasn't a D grade for the day?

Been away since April, so they haven't had a chance to bump me to C

No, I did not ask either.

If Beanzy is out there in DHBC cyberspace, perhaps he could enlighten us ?
