Explain these races
Win’N’ Out This is the opposite of a Miss’N’Out race. After a designated number of laps a whistle is blown for the first sprint. The winner of the first sprint is deemed the winner of the race and allowed to carefully withdraw from the race. Each proceeding lap sprint will produce the consecutive places from 2nd to 4th. Tip if you go for a sprint make
Point score- Riders must score points by sprinting for intermittent sprints every ?? laps for bonuses (5, 3, 2, 1 points). Lapping the field scores a bonus 20 points, consequently losing a lap to the field scores -20points. Winner of the race is the rider with the most points.

Joanne is pissed off that she can't be there but riding and lunching in France must make up for it (I think anyway). She's keen for Friday 26th, just 24 hours after landing which should be interesting. Go hard team DHBC.

You might expect it in division 5, but certainly not in the higher divisions. That is a crack up. I gather he is an experienced rider that just had a lapse of concentration moment?

This week’s Races
• Round 1 Warm up Scratch
• Round 2 “No – Race this week”
Round 3 Graded Sprints (4-6 riders per heat) ….(Hillbrick Series)
Round 4 Winners Race , Div 1= Madison
• Round 5 combines
• Round 6 Race video replays, Cyclists pasta and Beer in the HBT.

Explain these races
Sprint- RAW Track sprints are usually run as 4-6 ups over 3 laps the first few laps are usually spent sizing your opponents up and positioning yourself for the optimum explosion to the finish. It is not uncommon for a sneaky rider to attack early in the hope of holding a lead to the finish. The sprint is a test of power, speed and above all, tactics.
Winners Race- The race is over 16 laps. There is a sprint with 12laps to-go, the winner of this sprint qualifies for the final sprint, however he/she must continue to race, keeping a close eye on the winners of the sprints with 9, 6 and 3 Laps to go. Each of these riders also qualifies for the final sprint. With 4 laps to go all non-qualifying riders must withdraw from the race. Leaving a 4 up sprint to decide the final placing. You can work out all the tactics on this one.

Due to time restraints Wheel-races will be every second week in 09
• Round 2’s Wheel-Race will run every second week mostly offset Jnr Development
• This is to ensure that we finish on time

Thanks for this - I searched all over for this last night but couldn't find it. No link from the RAW site, no link from the Viostream site and Google returned NO HITS - Arston needs to look into that last one as if Google doesn't know about you you don't exist (maybe I needed to search for RAW Track live but that's a bit cryptic)

thank god they got the mic working last night...
I had a mate from work come along and with no commentary, it would be a little hard to follow the format - the mic did come back to life and Damo thought Arston's commentary very entertaining !

So I did get rolled in the sprint! I really need to learn how to throw the bike rather than thrust my head out - or just win by a mile a la the winner's race!

every one check out the video :D its in the week two results section :D

these are the lads that beat us :D

Madison
1 Jackson Law / Jack Bennett
2 Tirian McManus / Joshua Cornish
3 Robert Upton / Ben Harvey
4 Jules Galli Chris Brown

im not an expert on these lads, but Jackson law broke a record held by brad McGee for the persuit, the other three lads in the top three are all fast as, i dont know what actual state stuff they have, but i think maybe some national too! Tirian McManus i saw last year winning the junior melbourne cup on wheels> Ben harvey does well in the state omium, Jules galli has at least a bronze in the state kilo, and was top ten i the sydney road titles. Robert upton i dont know what hes done, but the name rings a bell... and yeah chris brown is an A grader, his sister is Kirsten dont call me kristen, or is it the other way around...

but yeah, all im saying is that we were beaten by some good riders, and maybe should have come fourth!! crazy!!

the missed swing was right at 6:38!! (ou can just see where it was about to happen on the right of the screen) we totally would have had fourth after watching it again!!!!!! simon could have gotten back near them, instead of the 2 or 3 more laps of me riding?!

The race is run similar to a point score-however each lap is a sprint for first place only with the points earned corresponding to the laps completed i.e. the winner of the first sprint gets 1 point winner of the 10th sprint gets 10points. The overall winner is the rider with the most points.

Hey great night last night! Two placings in the wheel race & I think we should have done enough to either close the gap or move back into top spot!!!!!

Though with the miss two week rule on acummulated entires over the past couple of weeks we may have to wait till week 4-5 till we start to notice the advantage of our consistent numbers!!! But we will drag them back and pass them!!!

Check out our home page for a RAW shot - DHBC leads!

IMPORTANT COPYRIGHT NOTICE:
Shots off Action Snaps site are copyright to David Lane of Action Snaps. I'm sure he likes the advertising but would probably like the $$ more. I have spoken to David and he's very understanding but I would like to uphold proper intellectual property rights on this forum.

We must (legally) make a distinction between linking to a photo you don't own that's already on the web (i.e. in the public domain) and downloading a copyright photo and then uploading the same photo to another photo site (like photobucket) and linking to it. Without meaning to single anyone out as there are multiple offenders (probably including myself in the past), if you don't get what I mean, below are the properties of the photos linked to above and you'll see the difference.

BAD = http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc10 ... 3748-1.jpg

GOOD = http://www.actionsnaps.com.au/images/zo ... c_3612.jpg

Can all posters please be aware of this difference and act accordingly. Please Do NOT download copyrighted photo's and then link to them on this site (in Action Snaps case, it's pretty obvious, there's a huge watermark C in a circle in the middle of the shot and the file name).

In future I will be DELETING all posts that contravene this standard.

If you link to a photo from any copyrighted photo site, please place a link to the photographers site in your post - its common courtesy - they're trying to make a living!

If you purchased the photo from Action Snaps then it's fine to link to it from another site but a nod to David and his site wouldn't go astray. For other photographers, please check before you post.

I do work in this field and if you included the rest of James's post you would have seen that it said "Make sure that you read the fine print even after purchasing a picture". Usage rights will change with the type of purchase, the photographer or Image/Library you purchase from. Given we have spoken to the photographer personally - and he has agreed if the photos are purchased from him, we can use them as we wish....I think I've pretty much covered it Wieyun. Double :P back at you.

Last night was lots of fun. Glad I didn't chicken out like last week and moved to Div 5. Getting left for dust in the combine was somewhat disheartening, but a reason to train harder!

Correction, no information was with held - you just didn't bother reading properly. It is on the very first post by Stuart "I have spoken to David and he's very understanding but I would like to uphold proper intellectual property rights on this forum".

I agree but it needed context - there is no mention of RAW at all. A single para of background would have been good.

I must say I did enjoy watching that Div 3 point lap race. Very organised and a convincing lead over the rest of the field. All of us division 5'ers are still learning so it is good to see the success of a well planned race. With at least 5 or 6 people forming our DHBC Div 5 armada, one day we might get to a point where we can replicate some thing similar. At the moment it is basically every man for himself out of survival and inexperience.

Yeh, the plan went perfectly. After pulling the group off the front, I rolled back to the bunch to try to get on the front of it, but they weren't having none of that and rolled past me. The bunch left George to do all of the chasing.

With that handicap i suspect that you probably would of won the race as well michael. It should be a good race, although i suspect that i will probably be caught by the scratchies pretty quickly.

Just so you know

Michael's replacement in Div 4 for TWE Wheel-Race is DHBC rider Ian Dencker.
