There was a winner in D grade - congratulations Simon on your win (don't spend the cash all at once)

i raced in C grade, there was myself Cameron Ramsey and Craig Wheeler in C.
It was blowing hard from the south so it was tough going along the back part of the course. No one wanted to do any work so the pace was about 20 through the back then ramped up to nearly 40 on the straight. Craig did a bunch of work and got a flat about 6 in he rejoined a lap later. 4 guys jumped on the start the last lap and i was on a bad wheel. Ended up chasing for most of the lap and missing the final sprint.

Thanks guys. I've been hoping to get pushed up to C grade, hopefully this win will be the catalyst. They keep throwing me into D, so i assume i am not ready for the big jump up to C yet.

As for the report, well it was a big D grade this week. I counted 12 but it could have been more. I could be wrong, but it looked like 4 DH riders. Hugo (the young kid), a fellow middie who's name escapes me (sorry!), i think the guy on the singlespeed is a DH rider and myself. The race was quick from the start, surging every lap. The surges broke the field early. Only a handful of the riders did the work at the front until lap 10. I made a break and hung on for dear life. Fortunately the chasers were held back by our DH middie rider who ran interference and ended up with 4th or 5th place. Without his help i would have finished well back.

Simon,

Top effort and a well deserved win.
That was me doing my best to disrupt the chase.
But I still got out sprinted for the minor places :(
