I've had that happen with me twice with some cheap shoes, both times returned under warranty

The carbon fibre sole looks fine. Looks like the glue just failed or got dissolved away. I'm sure it will work fine again with a bit of fresh glue.

Which glue? I want to do some minor repairs to an old pair of Shimano's

If you want to go waterproof and possibly build up additional layers of material where the rubber/plastic has been worn away, I think Shoe Goo might be good.

If you just want to repair, Selley's Shoe Glue will probably work.

My old DMT's have the carbon sole coming away at the heel a bit, but since i've got new shoes i haven't bothered glueing them again.
