Hi all,

I though that since we haven't had a boxing day omnium this year it is only fitting that we go back to the roots of where it all started.

At the first ever omnium we ever ran which was on boxing day we didn't know what to do so we rode kilos & dubbed it the 'DHBC Kilo championships.'

So in respect of this event tomorrow night the 27/12/2010 we will do it all again!!!!

Where: Tempe Velodrome
When: tomorrow night
What time: 7pm
Who can ride: anyone with a track bike and license
Rules: 3 laps, fastest time wins. Aerobars, aero-helmets, disc wheels are all allowed, so long as they comply with UCI regulaions.

I wasn't yet planning on a bbq, but if the weathers good & people are interested we could go with the flow tonight.

I was thinking more just riding kilo's than actually racing but we will probably also have a madison if enouh people show up & it's not raining.

We have received sausages to use. SO hopefully we will get some salads and have more of a green bbq.

Cheers Simon.

On a very windy night at Tempe the 2010 DHBC kilo championships took place. The results proving very irratic as the wind was very strong for some riders and almost non existent for others but due to being a championship event, officially no riders were allowed to re-record a result.

The final results:

ELITE MEN

1. Simon Llewellyn 1:18.30
2. Anthony Pham 1:23.01
3. Nathan Garard 1:23.09
4. Timothy Llewellyn 1:26.06

ELITE WOMEN

1. Jessica Norman 0:48.52
- Lizanne Wilmot 0:47.72 - non championship result due to no racing licence

U17 MEN

1. Hugo Venville 128.63

MASTER MEN

1. Christopher Harris 126.81
2. Michael Clement 128.52

I've got. A list of excuses, I was actually the only one using aero bars too, so I got hammered worse than it sounds!

Ha ha, it was a slow night. My 1k split in my 3k pb is about 5 seconds faster than my kilo time above
