My brain didn't engage and yelled out "hey" rather than "Spotted"

I might have a 5.10pm class in the CBD, covering for a sick instructor, but if I lie low I might be able to avoid it

I saw Eleri as she was entering the park, crossing the bus lane about 6am. And I saw Aimee riding through malabar, as one of my friends got pretty close to her riding up a hill :|

Camilla and I spotted John N and Christian out at West Head. Camilla yelled "Dulwich Hill". I was about 100m back and just waved and got a wave back which was well spotted by them as we weren't in club jerseys.

Yesterday saw Mig at La Perouse, this morning I saw him on the path out of Centennial, then in the same place an hour or so later (I was running a few errands) I saw Peter on his red Genesis.

Also saw a guy on an older Cervelo with a dark green backpack and DHBC jersey riding over the victoria bridge. I didn't know who he was, but he had hairy legs :o and was moving pretty quickly.

Me, hurtling along George St near the QVB at about 0625 in pursuit of Mike's Early Easties. Spotted by Claudia From The Café, who when I was ordering my coffee after the ride, said "I saw you this morning riding along George St". Qualifies as a "spotted" IMHO because she could identify the rider, the time and the place, and the café staff must be just about honorary members of DHBC by now anyway.

I explained as much as I could the "spotted" protocol, and in particular the correct use of the hail "Dulwich Hill spotted!", so she is now fully prepared for the next time she sees one of us in the wild (so to speak).

I spotted Brownie going north on the Harbour Bridge yesterday afternoon (I was going south). Not quite 'Dulwich Hill' spotted so I don't know if it counts. Though he was on the fixie century...

Of course, I could say he 'spotted' me but it looked more like he was trying to work out who I was.

TLA?
Three Letter Acronym

As opposed to an ETLA, Extended Three Letter Acronym, which usually has 4 or more letters.

I didn't yell "DHS" I yelled "Dulwich Hill Spotted". I typed "DHS" because I am in the "Dulwich Hill Spotted" thread and typing that i yelled it is like "duh, what else would you yell when commenting in this thread". I trust that clarifies matters to all those who care..........

I politely say "hello" or fail to say anything (more likely) because it takes me a while to compute who the person is. The idea that I would then say DHS or variations thereof is just a bridge too far.

I saw Rhys this morning in the park. I told him he was speeding. Is that a code violation in this thread?

I built the Ridley quite a while back but just hasn't been my main ride until this last 6 months or so. Been kept in the garage mostly. I need to find time to service my Bianchi...

I have seen a few people around the place, but I don't do any yelling, or any thing like that. Possibly Lizanne a few times, Jimmy (james) in Newtown walking past in one of those hats that has a brim the whole way around, Mark L driving around beeping his horn, and a few more but I can't remember who or where.

It was a crisp morning in Thredbo. I stepped outside of the Ski Patrol lodge with a belly full of pancakes ready to tackle the next day of downhilling. I pulled off my jersey and started fitting my pressure suit, ensuring the armour sit snuggly for the inevitable crashes and challenges of the day. A red flash caught my eye. I double take - could it be?! Here? That small stature is unmistakable! I took off barefoot and half dressed, running down the street yelling “Eleri, Camilla!!” until they finally heard my cries and turned around…

They were very happy to see you, and you were spotted later in the day, descending, from a chairlift as Adam and Eleri went up Mt. Kosciusko. Off to Bright tomorrow to put finishing touches on the training for the Alpine 250. Camilla & Eleri seem to be on track; Adam and I shall be volunteers at Mt. Beauty.

Excellent to see Victoria in Thredbo whilst on secret training camp. Training somewhat awry later in the day when I walked from the top of the Thredbo to top of Kosciusko (13.5km) with Adam. Not in the plan and very tired making but we did see Victoria with her mountain bike on her knees coming up the chairlift. Looks like fun.

I was totally disappointed today, when the fasties lads who I was chasing along stopped at a set of lights diagonally opposite to the DHBC 28's or 25's, did not get one wave?! I waved and yelled hey, but no one even smiled at us?! are you all too elite for our simple little group? we were smiling and every thing! just because we aren't a massive bunch, doesn't mean we don't deserve a smile, a wave, and a wassuuuuuupppppp!!!!

weiyun (I presume) this morning, at the top of oxford st at the taylor square intersection. Nice ridley! I had just pulled a magnificent trackstand for the duration of the lights change and I forgot how badly my toes overlapped when I went to take off and nearly fell over.
I was in the bernard jersey on the black/red felt.

I spotted some one riding up Macleay St Potts point on Fri. lunch time Heading towards Darlinghurst Rd. I didn't recognise them as a DHBC rider until they were past me, I thought it looked a bit like Mike Langdon from behind.
That was me, bustering home from work to get to the cricket in time. My life: tough gig.

Someone in a DHBC jersey yesterday about 10.15 heading west on the Cooks River Cycle Path near the water park. I shouted "Dulwich Hill!".

I overtook Lizanne today on her fixie on the cycle path this afternoon. She was heading west to the Canterbury ice rink and taking it easy (otherwise it would have been her overtaking me :D ) We chatted before she headed off to do some skating.

lol! funny how there were so many SU velo people in it, including the sbs commentator..

Speaking of SU, I met a lad on a scooter thing the other day while I was cruising around on my bike, who knew Lizanne, who had been trying to talk him onto a bike, does that count as spotted?

Saw yewenyi on his recumbent today where Bourke St cycle path ends at waterloo. Well, I thought it was yewenyi but in retrospect it could have been anyone with a beard because it was a recumbent.

Someone went 'beb beb beb beb' (friendly mode) as they drove past me, but I couldn't see who had spotted me

Lindsay would never ride a flatbar (unless it were a singlespeed MTB)...

Forget the eyebrow hair. You know in some cultures, if you get that close you are married.......

Pity you missed the ride Bill! It was a beautiful day in RNP, not too much traffic and even a helpful taxi driver. (We'll ignore a bunch of twerps who tooted at us in quick succession along through Arncliffe though.) Not sure of the final avg but at Audley we had avg about 28kph which we were collectively happy with. Marc found out there were hills in the RNP :)

There were about 12 of us all up but people started peeling off home from about Sans Souci so by the time you saw us we'd picked up those triathletes who then helpfully gave me a bit of a tow down the Princes Hwy.

Rhys on the highway at st peters on the way out

A fast female on a fixie flashed past me on the way back on Victoria rd just after Sydenham rd. Must have been Lizanne. I was still a bit pooped from RNP. Where does she get her energy?
