Hi Peakers
Could someone give me some advice on accommodation at Falls creek for next year's edition of the Three Peaks Challenge? I will need accommodation for five riders and we will be happy with Spartan rather than luxury. We will just wish to be on the Hill and not need to travel on the morning of the ride.
Cheers
Douglas

Dougie,
Heaps of accommodation options, from basic to luxury. Just get in early and there should be no drama. It's a ski resort so plenty of rooms. I can't remember the name of where I stayed ( I'll tell you later when I get home) but it was a ski lodge with good facilities - share kitchen, 100 metres from the start line. I paid $100 a night and the room could've slept 4.
Have a great ride,
Peter

Hey Dougie, I'm keen to repeat 3 Peaks in 2015. My accommodation was basic but the food was both included and brilliant. It was called Summit Ridge. Would do it again but would try to shop about a bit this time. Pete was close to the start and finish. I had a painful walk up the hill at the end of each day!! So bottom of the hill is the key.
Let me know if you want to try and rack up numbers as I'd be in.

Dougie. You've piqued my interest. Are you taking your own team of crack riders to push you up those hills? A nice video here from this year's. http://cyclingtips.com.au/2014/03/scody ... enge-2014/

Dougie, John & Noel,
I also plan to revisit the 3 Peaks in 2015. I'll look around but have no reason to stay in another place, Chorki was just fine.
Have a great ride,
Peter

I will make contact with Chorki tomorrow.
I am planning to do it with some of the C25's, C28's and Middies. It's bucket list stuff and we'll be a fast as the slowest rider. My target time with them is 12 hours and 59 minutes. It would appear there are plenty of active and peripheral DHBC riders keen to do it.
I will keep updating my progress

I must say I am tempted to do this as well as the ACE. Awesome loop. The ACE was the best ride I have ever done. Doing it again this year, even tho I will be away for three weeks over Xmas. That don't be a problem, I'll just be fresh right?
And I would have rather not seen Pete in the bath. That was over sharing!

I'm in, it pretty much sold out on the day it went on sale for non bicycle network members. You snooze, you lose. Looks like the March 2015 event sold out in a few days. On the standby list. Anyone enter?
Have a great ride,
Peter
