Sutherland Shire Cycling Club are hosting interclub handicap racing at Waratah Park, Sutherland this Saturday 9 May — and have extended an invite to us. Actually they are super keen to get DHBC members along.
Sign on from 8am, start at 8:30am. U17s and up.
It's a great chance get some friendly racing in after these few rain soaked weekends! It will probably be a bit tamer than the Rookwood Crits. Waratah Park is a great course, nice surface, and completely self-contained. We ride past it on Waterfall rides.
There is parking, and it is close to Sutherland train station. The good thing it is on Saturday morning, so you can get some racing done before the weekend gets into full swing.

Sutherland would like to gauge numbers, so if you are keen, pop your name down here and I'll get a list to them.

And now it has a Facebook event page — https://www.facebook.com/events/927325853986272/
It is listed as "DHBC vs Sutherland", so I think they are pretty keen to see a few of us there!

Is the course a crash fest or pretty easy going? I've got a wedding to attend in the arvo and don't want to show up with scratches or worse!

I'll be heading straight home afterward at a decent pace, I won't be joining you James!
So the format of the racing is? Graded scratch or handicap and will we be on the course at the same time? Just trying to plan my arrival back home

4 representatives from DH. Well done all to those who attended. We picked up a 2nd overall in the first race and some good results across both races.
The course is probably the safest I've ridden on. Smooth surface and banked corners meaning zero braking even when entering corners at 65km/hr! I'll be back...
