Hey guys the next round of our monthly Crit racing is fast approaching. I have just been ironing out a few paperwork issues but the venue is now booked and we are set to go!!!

Criterium Racing: Sunday 21st of June 2009.
Location: Dunc Gray Criterium circuit
Start time: 7:30am- 8am
Expected finish time: 8:30am-9:30am
Grades: Slowies (C), Middies (B), Fasties (A)
Cost: $5 for racing
Prize money: nil.
Distance: approx 30kms but based on who shows up, less for slowies, maybe more for fasties
Type of racing: Scratch race for A grade with 3 intermediate sprints and a handicapp combining B & C into a fair seperate race.
One day licenses: No, too costly at present.

The plan is that everybody meet at Mick Mazza's at 6:30am as usual & ride out together race & ride back as like last month. The route has been found to be suprisingly safer & quieter than expected. As far as I know it Lindsay plans to ride out with the slowies who do not have racing licenses to watch, though he will have to confirm this as it was planned last month & didn't happen.

Plus we should have our new race numbers this month colour coding the grades so it should be much easier to work out what s going on for all involved!!!!

Hey guys just a reminder, the crit is on this Sunday.

I don't have a race license (hurry up July 1!) but I will ride out to watch. Will be good to see what it's all about and know what to expect for when I do race.

We will be leaving from MM at 6.30 using the same route as last time.

I plan on riding out to watch, too. But don't wait for me - I've had a shocking cold!

Well... Same rules as any other racing apply, if it's pissing down then it will be too dangerous, but if there is an feasability of it occuring then it will be on but I don't plan on getting up at 5am or anythinglike that to post it on the forum but I will send Tim up to Micks to tell everyone since I will be driving out... Worst case you get some kms in riding out to Dunc...

Well we didn't get beaten by the rain & no one crashed so I guess you could say it was a great day out even though Matt & Alex looked as though they had just ridden Paris-roubaiux at the finish!

I was a bit too tired to get up, especially with any possibilities of rain. Plus i only found out i had enough time to go there before work on Friday. Good to hear it went ahead and no one crashed, as that corner could have been a bit slippery when wet.

Man I know you lot reckon I bludged, but I can feel my legs, and I'm sorta happy with what I got from the day.
I'm feeling as much, maybe more than after the team time trial!?!






*foot note: To any of our more sensitive readers, me and james have a special relationship and I have known him nearly since birth,
I am not trying to create any sort of atmoshpere of any thing but fun and loving riding, with no pressure
On any one to turn up or not turn up etc. As you can see, I was happy to ride and do it by my self,
Not worried about what people thought of my cowardly effort
