MTBA license

It turns out we don't need to be affiliated with a MTB club to get a MTBA license. If you currently hold a CA license with at least 3 months on it (which rules out getting one now) then you can get a MTBA license for $45 (as per the application form, although the doc explaining this says its $36). All you have to do is 3 events and its paid for itself as a day license is $15.
