As I get back on the bike I'll assess where I'm at but I think I'll probably enter this.

What the heck....40 laps, the worst that can happen is that I will get spat out the back and just lose a bit of pride.

Nah, I'm out. I'll only have got back from Tassie the week before and I really haven't been on a track bike much since the Christmas Carnival. I was quite surprised last week at how much power (which isn't much to start with, given who we're talking about) I'd lost, in getting endurance back over the last month.

Instead I'm aiming for double pain on March 14: team sprint + solo pursuit! Yeah!

Go Team GO. Looking forward to entering a DHBC woman's sprint team, no matter what the outcome it will be fun.

I've entered. I think Julian as entered too, so that will make 4 MMAS4 riders

Did anyone enter the other master racing on the same day?

Well there was only one Masters 1 entrant for this, yours truly, so there'll be no points race for me this year unless I wait for the Elite version to come around again and grow an extra leg in the meantime.

THere is only 6 total riders with WMAS4, 5 & 6 combined. I think the minimum they will run on a race is 10, so it looks like no points race for me either. Bummer.

Joanne took 4th in her points race, she got points early on, but was dropped, but she hung in there and just managed to avoid being lapped. Her race was 40 laps with points every 10 laps.

In MMAS4, it was 80 laps with points every 10 laps, there was Ian Decker, Mark Lacey and yours truely.

It was an interesting race a great experience. Before the race Brett Fenton told me "that guy (pointing to him) is the world points and world time trail champion"

6 laps into the race I rolled to the front, the pace wasn't that hot and I decided to stay there, riding around and looking behind. Then I attacked with 2 laps to go. End result was that I was rolled came 5th outside the points.

Next time around I was in about 8th place. Peter Barnard attacked and we responded, End result 4 of us rolled Barnard and I took 4th (Barnard 5th). I was on the scoreboard with 1 point.

Points were;
Clement 1
Decker 0
Lacey 0

Then disaster, I'm right at the back and there is an attack, the field splits with 6 riders off the back, including Lacey, Decker, Meeham and I. I go around the other riders and attack the gap, eventually Decker, Meeham and one other catch me and we work together, but a couple of laps later and its just Decker and I. We are catching but I realise that I'm going to blow as soon as I catch, so I decide to put in a big effort to pull Ian back onto the field. we got within 40 meters and Ian goes around me and gets back on, I'm spent and rapidly loose half a lap. The field slows a little and I sit there half a lap behind for about 5 laps and then I realise there is no point so I slow up and wait for them to catch me.

Points at this point are;
Decker 0
Clement -19
Lacey -40

Mark Lacey has paid the price of doing the racing previously, he is looking really tired.

So I roll on to the back and blow me there's another attack and 4 riders go off the front and this puts all of us out of any points opportunities. We take turns at the front, but the end result is nothing for the rest of the race.

With 2 laps to go, I pull off the front for a bit of fun and Decker comes with me. Decker does a sprint for the finish just for the hell of it.

Points in the end are the same;
Decker 0
Clement -19
Lacey -40

More than points we came away with a wealth of experience. I feel confident that I can run with those blokes, I just need to not make such disastrous tactical errors.

Need to look at the results, but I'd say that Decker came around 6th and I came around 8th out of 13.

And my rear wheel took 7 points in MMAS2. Bret Fenton got a flat on the rollers and used it. Computer took the victory.
