I have a brand new set of Fulcrum racing 5 clincher wheels for sale. I purchased them from wiggle but they sent me the Shimano hub rather than the campy. It is going to cost me a couple of hundred to send them back, so I'll put them up for sale instead.
Selling for cost price $260
Specification:
* Weight: 1760g (claimed).
* Spoke count: 24/27.
* Colour: Black.
* Skewers included.
* Freehub: Shimano
Local price is over $500. If anyone is interested, please pm.
I'll be putting them on eBay in the next day or two, so let me know asap if you are keen.
Thanks
Anthony

Why don't you change the hub body

Changing the hub may cost up to 1/4 or more of the purchase price of this wheelset. I can understand why it can be more economical to just flog and buy another.

Why don't you change the hub body
I asked Geoff S at his workplace yesterday to help me install the wheels/cassette/chain. Both he and Steve Hogg said it'd be cheaper just to replace the whole unit, giving they are not high end wheels.
Bit of a shame as I've been waiting for these wheels for over a month..
thanks for the tip anyway

hey can we get a for sale section? where do i go to ask this? who has the power to put sections in? i reckon it would be good to have even if its empty half the time, theres a few things around the place that are for sale that could be on there, and im always looking for bikes for people but cant remember who has them, and then who wants them

Bicycling Australia has a free classifieds section.

We could start our own as well if we want to. Local buying is easier, and lower risk.

Just for the record, you can say Campagnolo, Campag, or even Campa if you come from a German speaking country, but Campagnolo is never campy. Only the severly retarded (read USA) use that term. There is absolutely nothing camp or campy about Campagnolo products.
I suggested a for sale section when the forum started. I think it was Simon who said that it would go ahead if there was sufficient interest. Still waiting...

We only have a very limited number of 4Sale threads to date. A sub-forum can certainly be created if there's demonstration of sustained volume. Otherwise it's far easier for all to just keep it in Conversation.
Interesting on the Campag vs Campy. On many forum I seemed to be the only one using the Campag term and many times I have questioned myself whether they know something I don't.

I'd sell things cheaper to a dhbc member, perhaps a fs section is a good idea in a little while.
I say campy all the time. People know what you're talking about, so the basic premise of communication is there. What's the big deal?

The big deal is it's wrong and it borders on being an offensive term. Aside from the obvious slur in using the term, there is no "y" in Campagnolo, and no-one except internet-dependent juveniles use it.
Since Campagnolo is an Italian company, there might be some humour in stating that you had several "Campi" items. (The plural of Campagnolo could possibly be "Campagnoli"), but even so, there is no "y" there.
Perhaps we could arbitrarily change your name to Rhis? People would still know who we were talking about, so no big deal then? ... Get it now? ... If people continued to call you Rhis when you knew that they were aware how to spell your name correctly, that would go beyond the boundaries of ignorance and could only be described as rudeness.
It's exactly what I would expect from a dumb Yank, but we can do better.

bad news toff, campy is a regular cyclist term, your too late if you want to stop it being used, even if you think its offensive.
Its like me using the word nasho for national park, or the nationality of people, i know people that think of it as used for national service only. I know that what ever amount of years ago that was its use, but i dont know as many people these days that use it in that way, and it is regular in in a lot of communities to use the word for the park or nationality, as we talk about them a lot more. But ive had people in the past that were greatly offended by it.

My wife is Italian, and her cousin works in the Campagnolo factory in Vicenza (where my wife's family is from). They are cool with 'Campy'. Indeed it is quite Italian to bastardise an Italian term to make it easier for us Skips to say it.

Found something else too.
On the Campy webpage, there is the following discussion of trade marks:
1977 Diminutivi Campagnolo
Campagnolo is now a well-consolidated company and its relations with countries other than Italy are growing on a daily basis. Like anything that becomes familiar and well-know, people began to come up with company nicknames.
Thanks to its popularity in English-speaking countries, the Campagnolo name became, over time, abbreviated to Campy in publications and correspondence. This prompted the decision to register and protect the nickname, making it an integral part of the Vicenza-based company.
