stem for new old bike

I've built up my steely from the frame Lindsay provided, bits bought at the classic bike show, wheels donated by Peter, a new bottom bracket and the advice of many. Thankyou all But - its too long for me to ride comfortably for any amount of time.
I would like to ride 3 gorges on it tomorrow if I can find a shorter stem - the current stem is as long as I have ever seen, whereas I would need something like 50mm I think. Has anyone got one I could beg borrow or steal today?

I have a very short stem on a spare, I am told a centurion frame. Will need to remove it first.
