Information for DHBC WebPage Developers

This information is for anyone wanting to create or add to pages on this website. The aim is to keep a constant theme of fonts and layouts across all pages. We also want to be able to identify uploaded files, graphics and media.

We use Soholaunch to edit our site and this software loads all graphics into the one directory. So we need to be able to know what files are in use, how old they are and who put them there. For instance a file called banner.jpg could be in use, uploaded for a test and left there or just not being used. As we fill our hosting space we'll need to clean out unused graphics files. So please use the instructions below to create and upload you files.

File format

[file type]_[owner]_[file name]_{date of upload mmyy}.jpg

File Owner

Use your initials.

Graphics Files use g for [file type]

This is banners, clip art and other non-photo .jpg's. Use g for file type. No need to use a {date of upload}

Format - g_lm_newridersbanner.jpg

Photo Album Files use p for [file type]

These are photos for the photo albums. Use date in this file name.

Format - p_lm_heffronsprint_0407.jpg

Photos used on WebPages use i for [file type]

These are photos used to illustrate web pages not in photo albums. Use date in this file name.

Format - i_lm_duncgrey_0407.jpg

Fonts

Use Arial for everything. For normal text use 12 size non-bold & small use 10 size non-bold. Heading use Arial but size as you require.

Layout

Use columns as much as possible and keep the page as compact as you can.
