No idea on entry fees. Might have to wait till the end of the month. Imagine that it won't be a cheap exercise with airfares to London and accommodation during their summer. Finger in the air from past experiences, $2500 for return airfares and probably around $150 to $250 for accommodation per nigh...

Front Wheel...Free to good home!

Hi all...been a long time. Good news is that I now have the all clear to go back to cycling, gym, and golfing. Been out with a bad back (disc) for the last 6 months. Hope to catch you guys this Saturday. Have a old road front wheel to go to a good home. Needed to replace my old rear wheel as the spo...

RNP was a hell of a learning experience! I met PAIN and can't say that he is my friend. Grand Parade was certainly a challenge with the head wind and that much harder when you are at the front with Colin (who seems to make it look easy). Riding out to Waterfall has never been so hard for me e...

Interesting as Jo's cycle computer says average 28kph (more likely) and that's at home. (Mine says 24.9kph and I was by myself all the way back from Sutherland) And my cycle computer says 27.1kph with only a max of 59kph. I think our cycle computers are a bit more accurate...no reliance on satellit...

Sunday's pace was definately quicker than that of the previous week. And I thought it was just the extra hill run on Saturday and my dodgy cleats coming loose! Are there any calls for regulating the pace of a bunch? As I have been on the front a few times (and I have been guilty of setting the pace ...

Tour Downunder 2009

Hi guys... Just got back from an exciting trip to Adelaide to cheer on the Tour Downunder. Lots of "Lance Glances" as the only time you get to see him is when he is flying past. Manage to have a quick chat and shake hands with the likes of Bernhard Eisel (Team Columbia), Laurent Biondi (AG...

I tried the Fast group...I tried! I am still paying for it now! ;-) I ended up riding with HERT most of the way who picked me up after Sutherland and dropped me back off at the servo. So I can't say that I've ridden with the Fast group yet. :-) I must admit that HERT's call outs were pretty poor as ...

Re: Sunday "Not quite Slowies " Report

Just because you don't know about the princess turn at Waterfall it's not my fault - didn't want to hold up the group too much. Can't wait for Linsay to return so the average speed goes back down. I can't wait for Lindsay to come back too...I must admit I was pretty tired & sore when I got home...

Re: Sunday "Not quite Slowies " Report

In the absence of our usual slowies leaders (Lindsay and Geoff) the group was led out today by Jo (Me) and Fiona, then taken the bulk of the way to Waterfall turn off by Daryl and Insomniac Micheal, who both set a cracking pace. The presence of the Russions (who arent Russian but I love to call the...

I've got Continental Gatorskin tyres - it's a slice and slash fest all over them - great tyres for resisting punctures, suprised you got a flat. Where did you get the flat tyre? I was quite surprised as well. The cut was about 1cm long and obviously made it all the way thru to the tube. It happened...

Thanks to the guys who helped me with my puncture yesterday on the way to Waterfall. I think I'll have to continue saving for a new bike. Such a big price jump from aluminum frames to carbon frames. Not sure if I'll compromise and get a better aluminum frame with better components. Will have to check with the CFO at home when the time comes.
