Hey Adam

Great to hear another DHBC person will be there. Not sure of logistics my side yet, I'll be going down with three friends I think...Loved the Convict 50 so happy to hear it may be similar. will keep an eye out for you.

Husky100 Dec 13 Jervis Bay

I've just entered the Husky100 (50k version) in Jervis Bay with a couple of friends doing the 100. Any DHBC riders going? It doesn't look too technical, and not a lot of climbing, would be a good event for someone starting out MTB riding.

Stage 2 extension to Hornsby trails

There's an excellent new extension to the Hornsby Mountain Bike Trail - Stage 2, and it's fabulous. Heaps of swoopy berms, corners, switchbacks. Some of the Hornsby trail is very rocky with narrow bridges with inconveniently located rocks on entry and exit and tight switchbacks on climbs (not so app...

Am signed up for the 50 - loved it last year, but a bit sad you only get to do the river bridge in the 100!

Thredbo/Stromlo/Yellomundie-Mountains, roos & snakes!

Haven't posted for a while but thought I'd share a few bits: I did this downhill mountain biking package at Thredbo recently with a couple of friends. http://www.thredbo.com.au/packages/3-for-2-mountainbiking-package/ It's good as it includes full body armour, full face helmet and a downhill bike, l...

Great idea and happy to contribute. If we don't make the target, may be worth doing a Pozible with donations from the club as prizes... http://www.pozible.com/list/pop

Hornsby MTB track

Did the Hornsby trail on Sunday with AliG. Really technical and tight 4k circuit, keeps you busy the entire time with switchbacks tight turns and very crafted trail. The second half with smooth big banked berms heaps of fun. Not so keen on the first half - climbs tight corners and wooden ramps and e...

Perfect race - loved the 50k version, weather perfect, views amazing, all good! Definitely do this one again. 50k version hardly any technical bits at all, couple of fun descents.

Yep I am in too and my hubby for the 50k and a friend Chris who was in our Mont team. Went MTB riding there last weekend and it was gorgeous - hope the weather is similar. Looks like the 50k is quite simple and not so technical - no single track at all.

Re: Mont 24 23 & 24 March in Canberra Ride Report

Had a fabulous weekend at the Mont 24 at Mt Kowen. Perfect weather, great camping and a fun vibe, as well as a great bunch of people. Our team 'Team Tim Tam' came 13th of 44 in our Open Mixed category. Alison 'AliG' from DHBC was fast, and we had Chris, a previous solo 24 hour racer, and Tim, a spee...

Re: Adventure Ride- Oaks Trail MTB 10th Mar 7.18am Central T

Great ride was had by all - complete with river crossings and soggy feet! Andersons was excellent fun - fab descents but ugly climbs out. I had to bail after that to get back but the enduro people (Alison and now mountain biker Mike) pushed on for the Oaks too. Where are the rest of the DHBC Mountai...

Re: Adventure Ride- Oaks Trail MTB 10th Mar 5.48am Central T

I am in and wrapt its now 7am start. The Oaks is a favourite, especially the fast downhill and single track at the end. There is a bit of technical stuff which you may need to walk down if you've never mountain biked before, but that's fine. Sometimes a little water crossing at the end - a potential...

Mont 24 23 & 24 March in Canberra

Hi

I'm really keen to go in the Mont 24 team of 4 or 6. Am 40 so also qualify for that category. The ride is 95% full so we would need to get onto it pretty soon.

We would be fairly relaxed about it but (especially if a team of four) expect a fairly even distribution of laps!

Mountain bike skills workshops - AMBC

AliG and I both did the www.ambc.com.au Trail Bunnies skill course last Sunday at Manly Dam 9-3pm. It was a great course with some really good revision of the basics and some new skills. I was loving learning how to do front wheel lifts (aka wheelies) but struggling a bit. Had a major breakthrough a...

Had a great time at the Jetblack 24 on the weekend. Our team of 6 came 7th of 16 in our category and had no mechanicals or big crashes. It was my first race, and first night time riding and it was a perfect intro. The laps were about 10k's and we rode them in 29-50mins (me at the 44-50 min end and s...
