Re: L’Etape Australia 2016 - by Le Tour De France Saturday 3rd December

Can't speak for the others but for me it was, hot and windy and I was glad to see people in the race walked Beloka, because nearly everyone I saw in the ride walked some part of it.

If you want to see some video of DHBC in motion in the race watch this at about 2:11 https://youtu.be/HTw4w_lyi8A

Michael. That is almost exactly what i'm thinking of getting. The ELF hub would be good to see in the flesh. Very light. As for the rear hub the free hub body is very robust. I've notices I've been chewing all my Aluminium ones.

I sort of worked it out previously using reports and mapping data. It's around 2x the length of Lilyfield Rd hill at a grade that's comparable or a tad greater. Can't quite remember more but will learn it during the first loop on the day. Weiyun which part of Lillyfield road, the long rise from the...

Road conditions near the Audley entrance to the RNP

Hi folks I noticed on the the Highway heading towards Sydney that the shoulder of the mad mile has been resurfaced. I also noted that just before the Audley turnoff the resurfacing ends and the shoulder is just a mess. Riding back you will need to go on to the left hand lane. So the last part of the...

D grade was fast as well I think. I was dropped but still managed 34 kph off the back and I estimate they were doing 35-36 kph. The bunch was faster. It is a flat course but those two sharp turn are a killer if you don't have good power and technique. At the same pace I would have won E grade at Hef...

I will be there too. Warath's run a traditional crit with set amount of time plus two or three laps. If you have not done it before the course is basically an oval with a sharpish sweeping bend at one end, close to a hairpin and a 90 degree right hander at the other end.

One point of anxiety with that crossing is the upcoming hill. I think that all of us are keen to not lose speed and get dropped at that point. So maybe if we make that section a neutral zone where the leader must wait for the stragglers, then maybe some of the pressure can be alleviated for the cro...

I enjoyed my first race in 4 months. While giving Michael the chance to get away was unintended, I assumed that the others would go around me; I did think that I could work for Tim to help him get away for third. I was just surprised that he went at a 1,000 meters. Next month I will have to make sur...

I might need to get some extra padding as I was looking at a cuppa after about 2 laps. I will need to do some extra extra training.

From a cost benefit view, which will hurt more, staying with the bunch or Al size 9's?

The idea of a cup of tea at the top of the hill is too much. I have signed up. Hopefully I will get over the mountain twice! Eight weeks should be enough to get me into some reasonable fitness. It is a good target to work towards. I think I am the only MMAS5 cat rider from DBHC so far. I see there a...

given that income level seems to be the key issue in making racing a tax issue how about we all register as the one person and have one licence and pool the winning of each individual. All those $10 and $20 would add up!

Well done Huw! I hope James is alright.

I think the races must have got national coverage on the ABC News. I was in Canberra for a party and as we watching the news which ended with a film of the races and finished with Huw holding the cup while the credits rolled.

Great for Huw and for DHBC.

I think that it will now be harder for Evans to win the TDF because his team will need to controll the race. I don't know if they have the depth to control it in the mountains. They have a history of control on the sprinters stages but they usually do that in conjunction with teams like Quickstep an...

While I am no sure of Pat Farmer's motivation and at first I rejected this out of hand I have changed my thinking. Re: cents per litre not percent

I think Eugen's comments go to one of the central issues about bike paths in NSW. They don't connect to the rest of the transport system in any meaningful way. It took a concerted effort on my part to find the start to the M7 cycleway. The cycleway end just in streets with no supporting cycle-paths...
