I was once riding home with a bottle of wine in the pannier, and I had a collision with a vehicle, I think that I pretty much went right over the front wheel, and having clipless pedals, I think that the bike followed me.
Bottle survived better than me and the bike.

Re: timing - sunday to waterfall
How long does it normally take the Sunday bunch to go from the RNP turnoff on the Princes Hwy at Loftus to Waterfall, and back to that point? I've often thought it would be nice to to get a little bit of hill training in on Sunday by turning left into the park, go a set number of minutes into the p...

For those who went through the Park today, I though that this was appropriate. Maybe we should ask the author if he is still running past the age of 50. That is a big uptake area for cycling, runners who have done their knees.

What's the definition of the time period to complete? As I started the thread, I should probably answer it. I feel that it is basically as one ride. A slightly convoluted path, but I can pick them up on Saturday.

In relation to your comment about the derailleur hanger, when I purchased my new bike, that was pretty much number 1 priority, having a replaceable derailleur hanger. I haven't had to replace it yet, but at least it is a (relatively) cheap part compared to either a new frame.

The entrance gate for the West Head park is a bit away from the turn off from McCarrs Creek Rd, so you can park at the bottom. You can also park up in Terry Hills, it is only a few k's away.
