running - i run home twice a week (5k's) rain hail or shine and aim for sub 5 mins a k ... it sucks i hate it but it does keep the fitness there ... just make sure you have good shoes and i started out walking and slowly increased the amount of running. looks great. nice one t-bone. i know the climb out of bega up to cooma / jindabyne very well ... 2 christmases ago i went through there and it was snowing! nimmitabel can also be very very cold and exposed to the wind - so we will need some warm gear on another note there are some very good pie shop...

also if you ride "in" the bunch 2 brakes are a must for yours and the safety of those around you

1 brake means you should not ride in the bunch at all as your ability to break is compromised

I have 2 brakes and crashed twice last year and in both instances braking distance was an issue

Huw - I have Carnac Helium's with CF sole - very stiff - no flex. Wear them on the fixie, road bike, and cyclo cross. Never have foot pain even on the 100, 150 and 200k rides ... they do get smelly sometimes though :)

did the there and back thing last year ... riders wrong side of the road - not good!

plan on doing same this year but probably via helensburgh as the RNP although shorter was dangerous due to riders straying as James F noted ... should be fun

yep i think its time we instigated a dhbc ride together policy and no jumping to other bunches as we are getting quite large. it was the most hairy run back from waterfall i have seen with numerous bunches coming together at different speeds, abilities and then the debris just made it worse. am happ...
